Igor the Interim

I’m not gonna go all Captain Hindsight on it because I saw the logic in Tudor’s appointment not knowing much about his personality. That was for several reasons including his track record and the lack of alternatives.

Here’s where I question the club though. He clearly has an adversarial style of management based on some of the incidents tonight. How could anyone think that sort of style would work at a club who have underachieved spectacularly for two years partly because the fans, the board and the players were all at each other’s throats?

I think the decision was as simple as;

Paratici wanted to replace Frank much earlier than we did.

He wanted to replace him with Tudor.

When we sacked Frank, it was the easy option to go with Paraticis idea, despite him being gone, and some contact and conversations had likely already taken place.

Vinai and Lange spoke about it being the best appointment as if it worked out they could take credit.

I think that’s the grand total of thought put into this.

he's here because the players didn't perform for the two previous managers who offered the alternative style either

I'm sorry but it's clearly not working, 4 straight defeats and 14 goals conceded.

I get the logic on why they chose him but there's still 9 games to go, granted Anfield is a tough place to go but I feel we'd have a chance of a point with anyone but Tudor right now.

He should be gone tomorrow then we'll have to scrabble around for someone to fill in for a few games - surely we must have some coaches that could come in for a few games. I listened to the view from the lane podcast yesterday and it sounds like Mat Ho (womens team coach) is doing really well and has a great reputation. Wouldn't go down well moving him across but surely that type of thing is worth a go.

The only logic was he was recommended by Paratici
He doesnt have the experience odd this kind of battle
His previous roles have all been at sides expected to be at the top but being mid table
He did a job at Udinese keeping them up but the rest is very different
