Happy 50th Anniversary, Mr Bond

To the greatest movie character of all-time, the most successful series of films ever, the ladies, the cars, the evil geniuses, the gadgets, the one-liners...

I read Casino Royale a couple of years back. More enjoyable than I was expecting. The cover was the coolest I've seen on a novel as well

Looking forward to Skyfall

Heard a very interesting question today on a local radio show. If you could pick one Bond gadget/item to own, what would it be? Or even more interestingly, which Bond girl is the fittest?

Down to 6 actors apparently.

Heard of Paul Mescal (although not sure I’d recognise him if he kicked me on the shin in the supermarket)…and that’s it.

My short-list would be:

1) Josh O'Connor
2) Dev Patel

O'Connor would be particularly good if they rebooted it as a period piece

Patel would make sense if it was contemporary, especially seeing as MI6's field agents are almost never white anymore (since Islamism overtook the old Cold War focus)

Callum Turner is probably the most suitable on that list - he was good in Rose of Nevada

Do we still need to film meatsacks saying the lines these days? Anything as formulaic and effects-heavy as Bond should just be left to AI.
