From what I have read, the Argentinian FA filled out the paperwork saying that none of these players have been in the UK in the last 2 weeks.
Hoping no one noticed them playing in the Premier League the week before.
The Brazilian health authorities weren't allowed to do anything until they breached the regulations by leaving their bubble/hotel. They say they tried to access the changing rooms before the game but they were locked. The first time they could get to them was on the pitch.
It all seems insane, but from that, it sounds like the Argentinians have the most blame in this.

In that case, why wait until the game started rather than intervene while they were warming up or still walking out on the pitch?

... or issue the fines today - after the debacle - rather than on Monday when they took selfies on the private plane on their way to South America. Would appear Paratici has something to answer for...

I totally agree, but that was their explanation in Brazil. It sort of sounds reasonable until you think about it a little.

But if the Argentinians really filled in the paperwork incorrectly, I don't see how they have a leg to stand on.

Apparently the club didn’t want them to travel and they will be fined.

Dumb as.

Can someone please explain why the likes of Liverpool refused their players to travel, and they complied; while our players thought they could do what the hell they wanted??? And did!!

We can talk about the shambles of South American football but in pointing our index finger at them, three fingers are pointing straight at our faces.

Apparently the Argentinian FA were pressuring the players to travel (same with Colombia for Sanchez), else their World Cup participation would be at risk. Maybe the Brazilian FA didn't apply the same level of pressure on their players?
(There are lots of "apparentlys" about this whole debacle, there doesn't seem to be a definitive account, as yet, of what has happened and why/how).

Exactly .. also as everyone seems to be ignoring

- Technically clubs cannot tell their players they can't go to play for their country (unless FIFA agrees, which they did early in the pandemic but are not doing now)
- The PL mandate is something you can wipe your ass with, it means nothing (see point 1)

So as with all things Spurs, some combination of we aren't actually legally allowed to stop our players, our players are for a team than has a hard qualifying run, our players aren't first choice so probably feel they can't afford to turn down a call up, FIFA/Country FA/CONMEBOL fudge ups and simple country feuding all combine to pretty much affect only us.

How many Argentinians do they have?

Do you think Red Nose would have given a f*** about what the Argentinian FA said if he was in our position? This is what separates us from the true winners.... we are never ruthless enough. Whether it is playing a final or sticking to our position.
