Just curious who on here's either lived in or is currently living in France?

I've just had a bit of a career change and I'll be leaving the states to work in Toulouse for at least 12 months. I can't wait to get over there. Anybody spent any time in or around Toulouse? Would love any insight

Lived in Toulouse for 3 months in 1997 - bloody loved it and loved the locals. Even took part in a footie tournie at some stadium! I think that was also the year they won some Euro rugby cup (big celebrations).

I lived in the red-light discrict (not my choice) and was greeted every morning by the middle-age 'night ladies' :D

Really miss it, was brilliant.

I studied at the art college there - very close to the pont-neuf bridge, brilliant hang-out.

It must have changed drastically since then but I'd love to hear your stories when you are there.

Oh and it's a stones throw from Barcelona!!!!

Yeah from what I've read it's a huge rugby city. I think I'm going to be close to the red-light district not 100% sure, but due to the nature of my job I think I'll be pretty close. It's going to be weird watching Spurs at night (weekend games are around 8am local time where I am now) but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Does the city have a real university feel to it? From what I've heard and read it's got quite a few schools in and around the city. I'm only 24 so that would be fine by me.

Re: French Spurs

I want to live in the south of France at some point (work in the wine biz). Also be interested to hear your experiences

You should definitely give it a shot! I was fortunate enough to live in Nice for just 6 weeks, and it was the best time of my life. Such a beautiful place.
