Footballer Portraits - Udehi Imienwanrin

Gutter Boy

Tim Sherwood
I was at an art gallery yesterday and they had a few paintings by this guy. I really like them. I'm quite into impressionism, and I think he really captures the aura of some of these individuals

Not sure if serious. Without the name (in enormous capital letters) it could be anyone.

I think the Rooney one is particularly good. Southgate delves pretty dark. I can definitely pick up the essence of the individuals though, even if some of the features aren't quite accurate. I think there's a bit of a van Gogh vibe to them.

Surely the Southgate one is actually Keown?

These pictures are part of a program in Peckham which helps people with learning difficulties produce and promote their work, it's a great project which gives us all a view we rarely see.

Reminds me of the Dylan album cover Self Portrait.

Indeed, Dylan made that album as a joke and was surprised it sold well.

Dylan has stated in interviews that Self Portrait was something of a joke, far below the standards he set in the 1960s, and was made to end the "spokesman of a generation" label that critics had put on him.

Yeah not a good album, think that's his first recording of Might Quinn.
