They can both sell their womens teams for £100m+ to themselves. Or their training ground. Or future tv revenue. Or something else

They'd be idiots not to. Chelsea have shown the way.
My whole point was that those ships have sailed. They can't do these things anymore. They'd have to come up with something new every year that's not covered and that is simply not sustainable.

I believe villa have sold their women’s team to their owners again but it’s not public yet
Certainly a rumour on socials from worryingly sensible people
There are no loopholes closed because they never get the majority

Challenging for CL on the results front. A good cup run with the chance of a trophy would be great, but a lot of coincidences in cup competitions.

More than the pure results I want to see us establishing a way of playing good football under Frank. Doesn't have to be crazy gunge ho, but I want to see us play good ambitious football. To establish and further develop a way of playing that works and is at least reasonably attractive.

I also want us to at the very least not look out of place in the CL. Show that we belong.

I also want to see a couple of the younger players to step up a level or two. Consistency, show that they can be trusted with regular game time at our level.

I want the season to end with a good feeling, a feeling of progress, that we're heading somewhere even better.

Consistency is the buzz word for me. It's not just about a couple of younger players either. I know everyone will talk about the exhilarating first couple of months of Ange's first season. In some ways the second season first 10-15 games were way more interesting. We seemed to be getting somewhere but could never find game to game consistency. It felt like either the players couldn't quite grasp what was being asked of them OR certain opposition managers were undoing our tactics. Either way, we weren't consistent game to game or even first half to second half.

I'll be intrigued to see what it all looks like under Frank.

I’ve been thinking about this and what I expect from the season and what I hope for the season seem to be contrasting in my mind.

Expect - try and finish in the top 4 (or 5 depending on coefficient) and go out the cups at the QF stage. As mentioned above stability is high on the agenda. May take a little while for TF’s ideas to be implemented but I think 2nd half of the season we will be improved

Want - win the FA cup. I was 18 months old last time we won it. Been too long

Groan .. when brick is so obvious

[Ornstein] Aston Villa agree deal to sell women’s team to holding company V Sports & a stake to prominent US-based investors. #AVFC say no issues regarding Premier League PSR rules + advanced talks with UEFA on resolution to FFP compliance @TheAthleticFC

This is also why I've been saying I'm less fussed about doing it the 'right way' anymore. When you can have put all the work in to do something sustainably and then you have to compete with this nonsense, I'd rather just join the party ourselves. We have done the hardest part.

It's the place that annoys me, for all the talk of Spurs underachievement, what would the last 20 years have looked like for us without Chelsea, City, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, cheating their way to the top?

Independent regulator better do it's job.

Otherwise it is a case of if you can't beat them join them.

Which will destroy the game even further.
