ENIC

I'm not sure plight of the current situation is recognised by the mainstream fans on media. We are essentially back to Jol and Santini era Spurs. Since then we have always had one or two world-class star players in our team that would get us out of brick on a weekly basis but we are now at a point where we're not in Europe through league position and on a purely football basis we are not an attractive place to be and as such we are going to struggle getting the Champions League quality players into the club. I'm not sure that purely throwing money at the situation will rectify the issues as we can only attract buying average players and certainly not top four players.

In addition based upon the squad, we have we are not going to attract a top quality Manager.

I think we are fudged and this could be the start of a significant downfall.

We'll always have at least the 6th biggest revenue in the country now. That will ultimately be our par position, despite fluctuations.

Not neccessarily.... If we end up out of Europe for a few years then our commercial revenue will reduce. We're losing AIA as a sponsor just as a whole bunch of PL clubs need to replace their sponsors from the gambling domain, I don't think we are particularly attractive to shirt sponsors right now. Our next deal may well be lower than our existing deal. We've also taken a very long kit manufacturer deal that other clubs will perhaps surpass over the next few years. If we're not in Europe and not challenging at the top end of the table then there will be lower demand for our corporate packages, which could lead to a reduction in prices. Ticket and stadium revenue could also drop, we're already seeing vastly reduced demand for our matches, there are lots of spare seats in the stadium and the club are already opening up sales so that each ST holder/member can buy 4 tickets for a lot of our forthcoming matches. Lower demand for tickets and fewer fans in the stadium will equate to either reduced prices or lower attendances.

Of course the elephant in the room is relegation. If we get relegated then we are in serious trouble with the huge amount of debt that our club is carrying.

I think they will put out a puff piece with Lange or VV & it will mean absolutely nothing. Some of the fan base will be happy I guess

Some intent in the market would show something, time will tell I suppose.

Loads of vocals when the window closed in the summer about intent and winning mentality, you do that and you set an expectation. Not for all, because many of us have heard b0llox spouted before by owners in the PL

GB is correct, the non football revenue alone is about equal to another year of matchday revenue, there is a clear line between top 6 and the rest that is in the range of 200-250M/yr gap.

We can and should buy our way out of trouble, the biggest issue right now is the manager, regardless of your feelings towards him, he's not getting results, 3 wins in 12 with February coming up as one of the hardest runs of season fixtures, it's a quick way to try to get a bounce that keeps us out of any potential trouble with a summer reset needed.

It's not just on the manager.

We are lacking so many options with players out or not having options.

What manager is going to come in and get something out of Richalison, Kolo, Tel or get the CM dominating games...

We have no fit LB, no fit RW.

Madison, Kulusevski and Solanke long term injury.

The defence is constantly having to deal with the ball coming back to them because noone can hold onto the ball or pass it.

Frank has had time with the squad and we have cleared a few players, so where are the new ones?

Wasn't there supposed to be 150 million to spend plus Brennan money or was that for this summer

Spot on, frank needs to have the time to clear the players he doesn’t want or those who can’t play the way he wants. Whether we can get rid is a different story as many are average and will need to accept a loss on these, not so easy in a PSR world.

You're sounding like a broken record, my friend.... ytou haven't told us who would like instead of Frank as far as I recollect....

And those who want Frank in are a broken record as well (part of the frustrations we all feel), e.g.

- He needs time, no signs of progress, we are 14th, 3 wins in 12, but somehow time magically solves something? what? explain it to me
- Ok, he's brick, but there is no one else out there, so we might as well stick

Both of those (and sorry, not having a go at anyone personally) are pretty rediculous takes and quite honestly fail to acknowledge the situation the club is in, and the football and financial implications of where we are.

But to your question

- I think the club leadership is clueless, so they will probably pray Frank doesn't get us relegated and go for Poch in summer as a way to get cheap points with fans
- It's not my job to pick a manager (people are paid millions to make that call), but there are obvious candidates, go fudge with Palace for Glasner, promise him a budget in this window. Xavi is free, fudge, go offer Emery whatever he wants (he obviously is happy at Villa but they have financial limits that will get worse next season), and in all of Europe there will be other candidates (offer Inzaghi a PL job?)

Either way, ENIC is fudging up, if they had any desire to keep Frank, he needed players at start of window.

Why would any of those identified come to the shower of brick that is Spurs?

As Vinai said in the summer when appointing TF:

“We ran a really, really thorough process at speed,” says Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham. “We defined 10 characteristics that we think are important to be a successful manager at Tottenham Hotspur. We analysed in real detail through our technical staff led by Johan Lange more than 30 candidates."

I'd forgotten we'd lost the AIA deal. That's a big blow

Leadership can be shown in other ways IMO, more than a free £2 scarf away at Forest.
Wasn't Frank saying two days ago...that alignment is the most important thing...and he feels everyone is aligned.

Also praising the top top top leadership (or was it communication? Same thing) skills of VV.

I do agree with him though...Most pressure put on us is from the outside, cutting out the noise is an ongoing task, as in effect that noise should be irrelevant.

Aren't there new rules coming in that non football revenue is not allowed to be included when considering PSR?

1. Speaks English
2. Makes do with whatever players he is given
3. Is unlikely to get offered a better job and leave
4. Has shown he can keep a team in the premier league
5. Is good at developing players that can be sold for a profit
6. Doesn't demand/need to have players on high wages
7. Would actually be prepared to join our brickshow
8. There's no competition for him from other clubs that want a manager
9. Can go out to dinner with our DoF and their respective partners and speak in their native tongue (this one was a specific ask from Lange)
10. Won't demand anything of the board
