Dominic Solanke

He's not a proper CF like Richi - I mean, did anyone see him even once bang the turf in frustration having ballsed up another chance, or spend a minute or so on the ground rubbing his head to cover for the fact that he'd failed yet again to hold up the ball?

Amateur!

He’s our best striker. Holds up the ball best. Works tirelessly for the team. Will be in the right spaces for the ball.

Of course we picked him ahead of Tel. It’s good to have him back, and yes it can be argued that it was tough on Tel but Tel wasn’t in the original UCL squad anyway. It can just be thought that he was holding Solanke’s place until Solanke returned.

Looking forward to seeing how much better we play in the next few matches now we have Solanke back.

Another reason why Solanke has been added back is that we can only make three squad changes ahead of the UCL knockout stages apparently. So we were always going to prioritise Solanke over Tel, and I assume had we not made the change already then it would have counted as one of our three changes. I find it crazy that we can only make three squad changes when we have long term injuries and we’re in a transfer window.

Not sure if anyone can confirm if that’s right?

Injury changes were only allowed up to match day 6, by putting Solanke back in, he doesn't count towards the 3 changes ahead of knockout rounds.

We will probably want to get Gallagher in, maybe Tel. Richi and Kudus are injured, I'd swap RKM out at this point.

So happy for him and Odebert that he got his goal. Puts paid to the Tel squad swap complaints at least and gives him and the team some confidence going fowards.

Hopefully Tel can start against Burnley to give Solanke more ways to ease back into the team

I think you can look at it the other way. These are the 4 new big injuries:

Davies
Bentancur
Kudus
Richi

We can only remove 3, so if you remove Muani then you have to keep (just a guess) Kudus and Richi in the squad as the other 2 don't have a chance of playing this season again. Are they April / May returns? So perhaps Kulu for Davies, Gallagher for Bents, and then Tel for Muani. That clearly lightens the defence and no place for Dragu, Biss etc.

It's going to be more tough decisions for Frank any way we look at it. Unfortunately, it won't be Muani.

Why take a needless pop at Richy mate?
