He'll never get to the level Spence is now in that position. He needs to be targeting Rice's shirtI still disagree. If Gray committed to playing RB he would be starting for England in the 2028 Euros.

Yeah because Spence is known for his overlapping ability and final ballWe'll be screwed, as none of them can overlap or would particularly compliment Kudus or Kulu, nor have the mobility needed for that role
He was excellent in the final third for England and played very adequately when deployed as emergency RW (Everton) and LW (Borussia Dortmund) last season.Yeah because Spence is known for his overlapping ability and final ball![]()

I think we haven't seen anywhere near his best in attack. IMO he is an extremely skillful player and if given the opportunity to join the attack more often he would surprise a lot on this board.
His surging runs and overlaps are exactly what he was known for when playing RB before she joined us. You haven't seen it because he's rarely if ever actually played at RB for us.Yeah because Spence is known for his overlapping ability and final ball![]()
Gray's a ball playing DM, Byfield is CB and tge other is a schoolboy who looked ok in a half pace fitness run out against some amateurs. None are RB options for next season. Danso would id imagine start ahead of any of them

I'm baffled by those judging his attacking qualities while doing a job for us and covering the LB role on his weaker side. Do you actually expect a right footed RB doing emergency LB cover to be saloming left side attacker?
By all means criticise his attacking quality on the right but at least wait for him to play there and show what he can or can't do first.![]()
I don’t think anyone will lambast you for a very sensible comment mate.I know I’m going to get lambasted on here for saying this but there is also a case in certain matches and when we want to close things out to play both Porto with Spence on the right. You get the pace, driving runs and defensive recovery of Spence with the crossing, shooting and defence duties of Porto.
I truly don't understand the people who actually want to sell our quality depth. RB is probably our best stocked position and people are actively asking to weaken it.I know I’m going to get lambasted on here for saying this but there is also a case in certain matches and when we want to close things out to play both Porto with Spence on the right. Yes we have fewer games this year and Porro has been very available but people are forgetting he has actually missed games before and that he won't get injured this season. If we sell Spence we will need to replace him so the money made isn't as obvious as some think and no I don't want to see Gray there. I would want an actual quality RB if we are moving Spence on.
Not sure I see people wanting him gone. I do think some fans understand the quid-pro-quo thing though. The player’s stock is high. The player himself may be loose in the saddle for not playing his preferred position. The club are striving to massively improve the forward line.
Put that all together and the club and player might need to part ways.
I think many have bought into this nouveau Spurs of selling for profits being all the rage and everyone is loving it. I think there is a great argument for it but I also think there is a line where you get to and you have to look depth too.
I don't think we need to sell the depth in the back to fund the front, there should be concessions made in other areas before we touch others (including CM and Striker) if we need the money.
Lets not sell Spence and sell some of the other dozen or so players who should be off the rank before him. Lets have serious convos about Madders injuries and potentially upgrading him (if we are serious about success) etc
AM is a tricky one because we have Xavi Kulu Maddison and Gallagher - i think we stick with that group this season and see what it looks like come next summer.
