Could be...could be...

Makings of a good CB. If anything he's a bit too chunky. Only 18, certainally doesn't need any gym work. Seems to like the ball at his feet too, and likes lofting the ball long. Can work on that, and perfect his long range passing, less lofted more pinpoint. As with most teenagers you're almost adapting to your new long limbs but he seems nible despite his size, smart, eager. A loan may make sense, or cup games. He is not far off, but harsh throwing him into PL games now, might be too much of a challange. He needs some intermediate competitive football to develop.

Same issue with Spence though - we're not allowed to give him a bottom half EPL loan. He'd need to go to the championship or abroad

There needs to be a better link between the youth set up and the first team.

In the past you got called up to train with the first team and get left in limbo with no game time with either squad.
That was under Poch and changed when he left. They go out on loan now.

Club seems to be doing a fair bit of socials for him - feels like he might be more involved than we expect.

I'm sure part of the agreement with him is that he will get a good time to train with the first team.

Even in his interview he says that's his hope this year, to get some time involved with the first team set up.

It's forbidden under EPL rules. You can't loan a player to another EPL club the same window as you buy them. That's why Spence had to go to France.

We bought Spence in the summer and sent him to France in January so that is a poor example.
