Ashley Phillips

My Blackburn supporting friend reckons this kid "is the next JT" and should cost us £15m+

Hyperbole perhaps but for £3m seems a bit of a snip...

They have to be hurting if that happens, losing out on 50m in transfers this summer after their striker left on a free.....ouch

We're pretty good at sniffing out a deal when a club needs some money, like Devine all over again and he's looking like a good get.

Phillips and Pastoksi are similar to Devine, Scarlett, Parrott etc. Better viewed in that light. Good group of players mind you

In terms of senior CBs for next season, still expecting Romero + 2 new signings + 1 of Dier/Sanchez/Tanganga

Phillips can then replace whichever of Dier/Sanchez/Tanganga remains next summer
I think we should pair him up with (the very good) Dorrington in the U21s this season, with an eye for either of them to get a loan the following season or if either show real promise, chance of first team action especially if we qualify for EL or ECL.

How good would it be if we could bring them both through and have them at the back. A new Dawson/King, Jan/Toby kind of pairing for the late 2020s maybe.

Dorrington looks a very good prospect and needs a loan where he will play regularly, I don't understand the rules on loans but we need to get players back if they are not getting games.

Can recall in January.
Always tough when a new manager comes in to a side with our loan player. Agree with you, getting the right loan is extremely difficult. Do we have any feeder or affiliate clubs in England?
