We all use data. Music is vibrations in the air that our eardrums convert into electrical signals sent to our brain. We like it or we don't. No different from an ai.

I would see it more like plagiarism rather than writing. It is just a fancy copy-and-paste machine.

I find the latter quote makes more sense to me. Again I think it's a good discussion.

I am pretty ardent in my avoidance of Ai slop music though.

AI writes songs and poems and books and screenplays.
Yes, it has learned from previous authors and tweaks, just like most human authors.

AI is calculating and finding mathematical and scientific breakthroughs for us.

Nothing orgional though. At leas for won’t be good. You could ask a proper AI tool to write a new episode of Freinds and it might be a good starting point. Ask it to create a new sitcom and it could be dog brick.
