American politics

Today is a better day than yesterday....lets allow that to wash over us.

(Yes, then indeed, someone, just anyone, get to work)
Fore sure. It’s the end of Trump’s complete control over everything. This morning does feel like a huge weight has been lifted off our collective chests and that is momentous.

However, the Dems need to seize on this momentum and keep pushing to make the necessary changes… overturn Citizens United, end the tariff wars, raise taxes on the wealthy and fix the budget, negotiate an end to the Iran and Ukraine wars, get a grip on the runaway AI development…and all that is just a start.

But do I believe their leadership has the chutzpah to really push for all of these things…? Or are they going to say all of the right things but then achieve very little, similar to Labour under Blair and Starmer or the EU in general? The amount of drift that has occurred under these liberal elites is as much to blame for the cost of living riots we are witnessing as the right-wing drivel.

I really hope the more progressive wing of the Dems can make some organizational changes and wrestle control of the party away from the geriatrics who have maintained power for the past couple of decades (Schumer, Pelosi, the Clintons etc), and are beholden to the elites. But do I have faith in that happening…? 🤷‍♂️

Trump had an ability to herd all the disparate evil factions together but I doubt if Vance or anyone else can do that. This election is a stinging repudiation of the direction MAGA has taken America, and Vance has taken that same route with his own presidential campaign which is looking a very bad idea now. However, he is a man of no principles, so he'll switch on a dime and say he was never for all the bad brick that was going on. He won't pull it off, though, as he has the charisma of a soggy biscuit.
Haha....Vance is already trying to distance himself from Trump. It didn't take long, but Trump's stink won't wash off that easily.

Vance’s strength is his connection with the Tech barons, particularly the really nasty ones such as Thiel. With DOGE being a giant smokescreen for getting Palantir and xAI embedded into the structure of the US Govt. I would not bet against him being their next Presidential candidate with their vast resources.

However, any half-decent opposition candidate should be able to beat him 🤞
