25/26 Injury and illness thread

Think they did a review last season didn’t they? But yea agree, something’s up, 3 straight years of full on injury crisis under 2 different managers feels a bit too unlucky for there not to be something behind it. Other clubs have struggled similarly for individual years, but not every year..
Partly is a waterfall effect where having 5 of our best players out mean the others are forced to play every minute until they themselves get injured.
E.g. we could all see that Kudus was going to get an injury eventually as he played every game with 3 men hanging off his back, until he snapped.

I do wonder if our "state of the art elite beautiful grass pitches at the training ground" are harder and tighter with a denser surface or something.

This, complicated by the imbalance of the CL squad.

Said it earlier, starting the season with 6 players out has effectively meant we couldn't recover.

Stupid from Porro losing the ball there

Well they need to review their review then because it was brick looking at the outcome and not thorough enough.

Yeah, once you get a couple of injuries then things tend to snowball out of control; especially if you lose a couple of first team players before the packed Christmas schedule which puts a strain even on healthy squads.

The fact that 2 consecutive managers over a 3 year period are suffering the same issues does beg the question of whether there’s something inherent about our new facilities.

Also don’t help having such a precipitous drop off in quality between our first XI and their back-ups due to our poorly assembled squad; as we saw with Ange having to save MvdV and Romero for the latter stages of EL (even though it meant our PL form dropped off a cliff) and now the night & day difference that Solanke’s hold-up play made to the team compared to want-away Muani and young Tel who tries his best but is years away from being a top 6 level CF. Plus the ridiculous situation of having Udogie as our only proper LB aside from elderly Ben as emergency cover.
