    I found lots of games like that, I loved playing tennis, badmington and basketball but would never watch any of them.     That would be fantastic but it would need for fans to forget about watching their team and realise what City have done to whatever integrity there is left in the sport. Too big an ask.     The way I saw it was they were allocated so many places in each competition and they set the criteria for qualification. City have damaged the brand and forfeit their right to represent it because of their misdemeanours.

    Obviously I'm not sure how entering European competitions is organised but I would have thought the governing body of the teams has some input as to who represents them.

    I think that a good proposal, I would add exclusion from being candidate for European competitions, playing in CL seems the aim of all players and that would limit who would be prepared to join them.
