João Palhinha

Wish we could have found some way of making his loan permanent. With all the forward focused players, having Paulinha lock down the fort would have been more reassuring... Doubt if there was any player who played for just a year for us and had such an impact and hero status.

We basically can't afford to buy him on top of the moves we've already made and the remaining moves we intend on making.

That's fine, now we've fixed the midfield, next season shouldn't require such drastic transfers we might be able to make both more targeted moves and smaller moves like keeping a Palhinha.
 
Lots has been said but I wanted add, my own thoughts. Football for most fans is about those emotional attachments. It's not been a great year for me personally but I will always remember this man because in a wretched season he made me believe we could be better; that we could survive or put more succinctly he gave me hope! Thank you João and you will always cheered by me wherever you go.

Well said, he was first class. It will be a better year for both you and Spurs, of that I'm sure :)....

Could not agree more with any of that, he was my POS last year and i am gutted he will not be here next season. Gave his all for us and scored some crucial goals. Wish him well for the future.
 
He'll be their DM replacement for the Belgian guy who did his ACL in the game against the US. I forget his name but the guy they bought from Everton last summer.

At least we'll know what the trigger is to apply the high press when we play them next season...
