Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Apart from the saudis they weren't. We sold kane (not exactly hard). Sanchez and winks (winks was really a part exchange for maddison).

Point is, it will be difficult to shift players. Not just for us. Look at the jan window. Almost nothing.
It’s always difficult
But there is a need to buy and a need to sell
Clubs find ways

Or they don't and get lumbered with players. It's why so many teams are in trouble with psr. Because they can't find ways.
No
It’s because they spent more than they brought in and the rules stop the owners doing more money wise
Different issue
I’ve not seen, so far, a team with PSR issues have issues selling or even buying

Yes part of the reason they spent more than they brought in. Is because they couldn't sell players. Why do you think it wasn't an issue before covid? Because you could sell players to offset your spending.

When basically the whole of europe stops buying players it's a problem.

It’s because they don’t care about selling when they know the owner can bail you out

It’s going to be hard for us to shift numbers out.

We pay well and give high level football.

It also has to work from a cost/benefit point of view.

A lot will want PEH out for example, he’s not perfect, but he’s reliable, how much does it cost to replace him and pay off what he’s owed if he goes to a lower salary, and can we confirm that whoever we replace him with is actually an upgrade for what we can afford to spend?

We have to have players in the squad to cover the required roles, it’s often better to stick than twist.

Any player deemed surplus should be moved on as soon as possible, this whole post reeks of settling - which is what has had us in the mess we have been in squad wise for the last 5 years or so

It’s not settling, it’s pragmatism, why get rid of a player cheap if we then can only afford to replace them with someone inferior?

Sorry but that’s the issue
Every player has a price and a value
Having room in the squad is key for buys
Similarly letting players move on is equally important
We can’t hold onto players who can’t play ball

You know what Artetas stats were?

Season 1 8th
Season 2 8th
Season 3 5th
Season 4 2nd
Season 5 ….

Point is, you imagine some of our fans letting Ange get 8th this season and next? Hell they are complaining about 5th. We can’t keep going on the manager merry go round, we have to stick and “trust the process”, let him rebuild.

For me he has this season and next to start to put his plans in motion, then season 3 I will be looking for progress, but right now it is far too early.
The chairman is the person who sacks the manager, not the fans. Sadly we know from history that ours doesn’t have the same sort of patience that Arsenal’s board have shown.

They've had two managers since Wenger. One was sacked after 18 months.

Going by your logic, Ange will be gone in a week or two when CL qualification is officially impossible.

How many have we had in that time? I think it’s as many as 7?

Ange will get this season as long as we finish in a European place. Next season is the one in which he’ll be sacked if it looks like we’ll be missing out on CL.

Oh I agree, but foolish to think fans have no influence over that decision
