*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea OMT ***

Surely it's our time to reap the rewards of being the hard done by side, decimated with injury?

All the pressure is now squarely on the racists to do the job at home, hopefully it gets to them?

That's the only positive spin i can put on it.

Love his certainty over summer signings.. "We've decided what we need 3 months ago, so that's all in place"

On to the football department to make this happen as quick as possible now.

The team looks pretty decent, at least on paper. Recent transfers have plugged our holes, so în my opinion, we need 2-3 already high quality players instead 6 promising ones.

I imagine it'll be a combination of both, or I hope it will. Keep building for the future while bringing in some already proven quality to assist in growth.

Let me be clear…I’m not at all criticising Romero for doing what he did in the match the other day. I’m just making the point that he wanders from his position quite a lot.

Fair enough but I'm a believer in players responding to situations and feel the games and players are too robotic and tied to a system, if a player takes a risk I'm ok with it. I played in a time where the players and managers sorted things out without the help of hundreds of replays, pundits and millions of experts using hindsight. Oh for the happy days of Conte and Mourinho.

It's what Ange wants too.. He wants players brave enough to adapt to situations and take risks that might backfire, but might be golden.

I'm all for it.

What? How did you get to there from my point about Romero wandering out of position? If, like with the fullbacks, there is some one else to sit in and cover him then fine. But that's not how the DM works in Ange's system.

Quite pleased that Disasi and Silva are missing for that lot.
Disasi has been okay in defence and is certainly a threat from their set pieces. Without Silva too, I hope that their comms at the back will be even more shambolic.

It's in relation to "his position" as if it's set in stone, players must be allowed to react to situations, they're not cones, the team should have enough sense to cover if its needed, if I believed the paid fools on TV Kane spends most of his time out of position and who plays fullback when those players are out of position? Theres a frame work but football is a fluid game and I bet most of the teams in the relegation fight stick to their rigid defensive positions.

We can but hope.
Where Chelsea are concerned any hope usually flies out of the window within 5 minutes of the kick-off.

Just to add my +1 that I'd like to see 2 absolutely quality players rather than a lot of potential.

Get a DM/CM and Striker. Then youngsters/cheap signings for backup in other positions is fine.

I know it's all in jest but I hate this trait among spurs fans to always assume the worst. We've actually smashed the last few transfer windows and I'd love it if everyone in the stadium/the fanbase in general was a bit more willing to back the team and a bit less willing to give up at the first sign of trouble.
After 44 years of supporting this club, there’s a need to see the funny side. And to be realistic.
