*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Barnsley OMT ***

Sounds like Barnsley have attacked a bit more than Swansea did. They have also apparently rested quite a few players themselves.

There are times we we do have the counter and space but don't have the pace to really make it count.

Just a different option as it is one dimensional so far this season - no matter the standard of opponent - ie tonight.

We were a little like this at this stage of last season too. I think that a lot of it is down to how Poch conditions the squad.

At the game, feels like I'm watching us v Swansea/Burnley insert any other team. We're doing exactly the same things which are having exactly the same result. Walker-Peters and Sissoko lively enough. Trips the less said the better.

Sounds like the Wembley hoodoo is continuing. We really need to put this to bed asap. Hopefully we can find our shooting boots - and soon.

Not having his squad at the start of the season is a big part of this.

Complete guess work.

But we would have beaten Burnley and Swansea if Serge had started in my view.

If Liverpool had Kane they would be smashing teams 6/7

They are creating chances for fun
They have slightly different issues right now. they are just an extremely aggressive side but a bit like dortmund allow themselves to be open at the back. Where is there any creativity without our main man? Ben Davies

Yep. First 15 league games of last season W7 D6 L2. In 10 of those games, we scored 1 goal or less.

Next 23 league games W19, D2, L2. In 18 of those games, we scored 2 or more goals.

Sounds like they doing us older fold a favour blood pressure wise!
Sound dreadful and Barnsley missed a sitter from a corner!

England won at the Cricket ✌️

Believe the stats are the same from the season before?

Which cost us the league

I didn't check the season before. The point is, there is no need to panic just yet, we take a little while to get going. You could say it cost us last season, but we were a little unlucky with the fact that Chelsea put on a record breaking run of wins in the early part of the season, aided by an injury free team with no European football.

We got 86 points last season, hopefully we can get around 90 this time if we are as good as we were in those last 23 games of last season and win a few more in the first 15 games. I don't think there is anything to worry about, it will come, we have excellent players and a great coach.

If this is really what Poch plans, then it is a plan doomed to failure. No matter how brilliant our second half of the season is (and last season it was quite unbelievably good) we still come up short as we leave ourselves too much to do to catch the front runners. Happened in both of the last two seasons. Why doesn't he learn that what we need is actually a fast start to a season. Not this pedestrian nonsense.

We are ready 5 points down on last seasons games.

A win sat would change that delightfully

Nearly caught cold. Good save from Vorm. The first on target shot of the game apparently!

As long as we finish like we did last season, we just have to pick up some more wins in the first 15 fixtures. We've only had 5 games so far, we might yet have that faster start than last season, as we are capable of winning 5/6/7 games on the bounce when we hit our stride.

Agree with that; if that's what the plan is then it means you're crossing your fingers that you can scrape through the early months of the season when the fixture list is congested with Europe, league cup and internationals and then have a barnstorming finish to close the gap. Wouldn't make any sense, unless perhaps he believed that the squad didn't have the depth to take any other approach but that with a deeper squad (eventually) he'd change it
