Marcus Edwards

IIRC we only offer 2 year deals to the youth.

Think Edwards was due a bit more involvement last season but (like Pritchard) had some unlucky timing with injuries. It makes it trickier now he only has a year left as if we involve him and does well he may receive other offers and we lose him as his contract runs out.

It's prudent to have him sign at least another year extension (basically reverting back to where we were at the start of last season) with the promise of first team involvement.

Lets hope he gets thru the U19s unscathed.

So just to eliminate any confusion, regardless of whether he signs a new deal or not, and assuming he's back to full fitness we should expect him to be part of the first team squad next season?

No, he won't be involved with the first team unless he signs a new deal. I believe talks are planned for when he returns from the U19 Euros.

Has he even had in a game time during this tournament so far?

Okay, I just wondered as I saw England dominate Germany today

Holland were much the harder.
Marcus came on and opened up a stubborn Dutch defence and created the opportunity which led to the goal.
Germany were poor today.......Sessegnon was excellent, but they were not good.

Did you watcg the game @StephenH ?

It was like watching a load of robots for England with no plan B until Edwards came on to be different

Too many Chelsea lads there who don't know how to make good footballing decisions despite having ability

They have all the moves but lack football intelligence.

Marcus has done that in two games now....

Their like a basketball team

Physically impressive but no brains at all

I can see watching their players in the youth tournaments why they don't progress

Edwards came on and was different which made the difference

Yeah but apart from come on, change the game, make the goal that wins the game, what does he do? Can he play centre back? Can he f..k
