Transfer speculation

Palace....Man U.....back to Palace......he got there in the end.

I don't have any firm views on Zaha. He's looked a threat when I have seen him recently but I cannot say that he is a player that I have followed closely. Like with most transfers, I think that Poch has done enough that we should trust him on this.

My point was more that GKN has not shown us anything to come to the conclusion that we should not sign a player in his position.

Is that a question or observation.? As I need to know whether to roll out the sample size mantra.

You seem to have got the wrong end of the stick. I am not criticising GKN. I am asking whether we have seen enough to question the manager's decision?

For me to understand what you are saying I needed you to clarify whether your other posts were questions or observations?

Just as in the above post I'm not sure if the 'managers decision' we are questioning is a) not giving GNK game time or b) deciding he needs to look for upgrades?

Just give us your overall opinion on GNK/Zaha discussion then we'll be good to go:D

The only question I am asking is have we seen enough of GKN to say that it would be a mistake to sign another player in that position?

Oh it was a question then.................no we haven't seen enough of him by definition of the minutes on the pitch. Conversely Poch may have seen enough of him in training to think 'no thanks'.

My view is the cameos we have seen from GNK have been positive, as in contribution and his attitude. Certainly more than i have seen from Sissoko and Njie.

Sissoko may have got more game time (and i say may as Poch generally doesn't do reputations) because he was £30M and an more experienced player. Imagine if we had paid that and he had the oppurtunities GNK has.

GNK's problem (as someone else alluded too) is he has spent his career before us a s a typical out and out winger. In both our favoured formations there is not much room for this. To add to this the players in front of him Son,Alli,CE have all been exceptional (and along with Lamela) fit our system pefectly. As i said above, i can see why Sissoko was given 'next man in' status (and has acheived 'next man out' status:D) but GNK is younger and Poch has always stated the boys from abroad need a season, and perhaps the most important thing for GNK is to learn to intergrate into our style/formation. He can certainly bring genuine trickery and blinding pace.......which we do lack.

Of course Zaha can bring that too. Including a bit more muscle and prem experience. I think he does blow hot and cold but he is certainly blowing a bit hotter these days. £40M hotter? I'm not sure.

Six goals and eleven assists in the league playing for a poor side and is constantly double marked. But yes, he's toilet.....

He doesn't know what he's doing most of the time and constantly fudges up the simplest things in the most spectacular way. He'd be a bigger waste of money than Sissoko.

I think he's done ever so well in his short cameos. Can't remember which game it was, but he totally changed the game when he came on. He doesn't hide, and he always tries to do something progressive and creative. He certainly hasn't been bad!! But you can't really make ANY judgement on him, as he's played only a total of 135 minutes in all competitions! 47 in PL. But I think he's got something.

Think it was CSKA away.

He doesn't know what he's doing? How would you know? You way over exaggerate in relation to him, seems like you have an agenda against him for some reason....

Yes, I have an agenda. I don't want us to waste money on a mediocre player. You can find lots of better players for half the price if you look outside the PL.

Only De Byrne, Erikssen, Sigurdsson and Sanchez have more assists in the league. He's not mediocre....

Pretty much sums it up for me as well, he is player who can look good but more then not he fails to shine ( when i have seen him anyway). Pretty much like most wingers i guess.

My mate's a ST at Palace and says you get 4/5 very good games out of him a season, he thinks he should be getting into double figure goals but he hasn't delivered.

I have a couple of work colleagues who are Palace fans, and they say he's been quality and were very nervous when rumours surfaced of us getting him last window, we can all find fans who can support an argument. Most important for me is that it's pretty obvious Poch wants him, and that's good enough for me over any Palace fans opinion....
