****TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR Vs NORWICH CITY OMT THREAD****

Dont know what to say. Ive been trying to stay positive the last few weeks knowing we were/are still in a reasonable position but as the weeks have gone on i have really seen nothing to sense that we were going to change it round. If we were losing after battling for every ball, fighting for every point then i could say alright things just arent going our way.

We havent been though. The body language of the players has been terrible. I said it earlier it really does look like players are just going through the motions, the ball movement is slow, players are being far to casual and the set up of the team was a joke today. I do wonder how players/management who started gobbing off about the possibility of us winning the title earlier in the season have been reduced to looking like midtable cloggers. Maybe thats is. We think we are better than we are so effort isnt really needed.

Work will be fun tomorrow.

You have to say the England talk has been a problem. Its clear that we didnt get anyone long term in Jan as Redknapp could be going. Our squad isnt good enough for the run in now. If he doesnt get the national job, Redknapp should be sacked.

Sat in 4th until Chelsea put 4 past Fulham, then it's 5th and staring at 6th the way we're playing at the moment, 5 pts lost from a weekend that we should've taken 6 from.

well, maybe, but let's wait for the result first, eh?

and good job it's early April, not mid-May. far from over.

We've been poor since the Arsenal game. And I blame Harry for that loss because of the way he set us out to play. I think Harry has been found out. Being good at motivating players is not enough at this level, especially when those powers are weakened because of the England speculation.
At the end of the day, if we don't get CL, Harry moves on, and what are we left with?

Got to hope Chelsea /Arsenal/Saudi Sportswashing Machine screw up their remaining games.

this all goes to show that my theory was right. Since Capello resigned we have been dog brick! Should have said bye to Harry and got Villa Boas on the spot!! FFS, I??m done watching this season....

we were dogbrick in the second half of last season Fcuk capello and England, we are simply too flaky to be challenging for anything when it really matters

He was almost a lone midfield player today, and gave it his all. He'll be off anyway soon so you can relax. And Spurs will be a mid table team again.
Or we'll replace him with a genuinely world class midfielder and you will see the difference. Do you think that Modric has given his all during the second half of this season?

We've capitulated like we did last season, or is it because of England... Either way, we haven't had it better for a LONG TIME, but I still think Harry is simply not good enough. The squad we have, the ability we have, how bad everyones been this season and we still struggle. Pardew has done an INFINITELY better job than Harry with the resources they've had to work with.

Harry, the supposed genius man manager, can't get our team fired up and never-say-die to fight for the champions league then he really can't fudging do much can he!? One in in eight games it truly shocking form but if you want to be positive then we're still 4th, and still likely to be even after tonight. Not that it means much after today but we still have an easy run in. WE should still do it, but presuming this run comes to a grinding halt. Chelsea lose tonight, arsenal don't win on wednesday, we win on sunday and everything will be looking up again!

Absolutely right.

In fact, the skewed optimist's corner will state that we ARE still 4th (by the skin of our teeth of course) and that it's all to play for AND going down to the wire. Problem is, we had top 4 locked up and we've allowed it to become a dogfight, thus psychologically we are coming from a deficit...still, I do not believe others won't stumble too...problem is, we lost our chance to take advantage. Ah well, what can you do? Not much...but hope...wait, is that Peter Cook I hear?

Get off your high horse.

I'm a better fan than you'll ever be. Of course this is a footy forum and I can't back that statement up at all.

If I want to be royally fudged off I will be thanks.

Find a wall and paint a picture of gordon brown wearing an arsenal shirt.

Because leeds gordon brown is laughing at you, he thinks your a **** and he is laughing at you.

I may well have just caused some murders in leedss tonight hahaha

Our squad needs a shake up - its vastly overrated and I have said this all season.

We really needed one or two signings in January. Look at Noocastle - they got Cisse and freshened things up. WE? No we got fudgein saha

I would say our first team is very good, but we forgot the key aspect of the season being a marathon not a sprint. Those absolute tools wearing 'mind the gap' t-shirts were embarrassing, seems like Harry and some fans were immensely naiive about our good start to the season, and like you say, our January dealings were shocking.

It is clear players are getting tired, and I just can't understand why we got rid of so many players and brought in old, injury prone ones who won't last 90 minutes.

If we can somehow get the FA Cup and 4th I would be over the moon this season, but I think this summer may bring the end of one era and the start of a next. Whether that is a good thing or not I don't know, because this team have been a delight to watch at times, but with Harry 90% going, along with a large amount of players I reckon, I think we'll see a very different Spurs set up next season.

Harry got the line up wrong, Lambert got his spot on.
Norwich outplayed Spurs. 3 decent penalty shouts.

We play two holding midfielders against Sunderland and never look like scoring then against Norwich we don't play either of them and get out played. Harry is getting it all wrong at the moment.

Tiredness is not an excuse, we have a massive squad compared to other teams around us, yet a couple of changes and we fall apart.

Norwich are full of nobodies with something to prove, they wanted it a lot more today. Some of our players need to take a long hard look at themselves.

:) :) :)

Just checked my Paddy Power account....?ú180 softens the blow.

If we blow 4th I get ?ú1200......will be the best ?ú200 i've ever lost though.

nah, the perspective's better from up here :p

be f***** off, that's fine... i am too.

but calling the manager got us to the CL, sat in 4th and a couple of wembley appearances a mug c*** is a bit strong to me.

Yes, you were definitely the only one to say this, well done on a great theory. You're a genius.

mate, you forgot to thank him for getting us into the CL, the CL run and a couple of Wembley appearances. oh, and saving us from a serious tilt at relegation.

He's done a decent job, no doubt about it. I think it's perfectly reasonable to question a team, and in turn, a manager, that has been on a downward spiral since Xmas. This isn't kneejerk after one bad performance. We've been on relegation form since the turn of the year.

The person that said Pardew has done a better job is nailed on. Redknapp has had great resources and backing to buy who he wants and has done pretty well. Either the performances are his fault and / or the players. If it's the latter, he's assembled the squad of bottling idiots and not balanced it enough.

Anyway, we're all angry / emotional. I'll calm down again, but from the moment I saw that lineup, alarm bells we're ringing. My posts bear it out. I'm so angry because it was all so preventable. Fair play to Norwich, superb performance. Better energy, better system, better changes. Everything we weren't today.

Really???

Yes his passing is sometimes good and sometimes top drawer but he can't take a corner, nor can he shoot, hardly seems like a top drawer player to me. Saying he was our best player today isn't saying much because all of our players were brick.

7 corners taken by Modric all completely brick. The difference when VdV started taking them was clear to see.

The free kicks that Modric took were brick.

His shots on goal were brick.

Really I expect more from one of our supposed best players, but frankly when the chips have been down at the business end of this season both Modric and Bale have been severely disappointing when you consider the last couple of months. That is when you need your biggest players to rise to the challenge, and frankly they haven't.

having seen the game, yes.

set pieces and shooting aren't his forte. although it is poor - only 1 corner hit the first man iirc. plenty of others found the penalty spot area - they just weren't attacked.

his collection and movement of the ball was very good, as was a lot of his passing. and those two things are his main job.

i said he was very good, not (necessarily) the best.

if you don't rate him, fair enough, i just think you're wrong. i think he's a cracking player.

Mate, come on!!!

Harry got us CL footy?? REALLY??

Jol did barring some dodgy lasagne!!

And we got done over by a relegated team at Wembley? If that something Harry should be proud off??

And getting mugged by Man Utd? Am I missing sommat here??

Nope....he's a muggy clown shoe. fudge him, Spurs are bigger than he'll ever be in his big fudging head and all his fanboys in the media.

You'd think we were a mid table team before he came.......we'd finished 5th twice. Ramos was a clueless **** and had us in a false position.

My observations from today's game.

1. King is physically finished and should retire now. The signs have been there for a while, but we have all been hoping against hope. The man cannot run and has zero spring in his legs.

2. Bale needs a good talking to. I would even drop him. He is all Hollywood at present with no desire to compete.

3. If Saha is the answer, then it must have been a stupid question!

4. The fact that Walker is an England right back says more about the paucity of talent in English football, than it does about his abilty.

5. Redknapp needs to face facts. No more of " the lads are pros, they dont look at the papers and get affected by this stuff." Get stuck into them and also tell the club, one way or the other whether you are taking the England job or not!

I'm sure we're all devastated. There's a club down the road that will suit you and your plastic support perfectly.
