TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS CHELSEA - CAPITAL ONE CUP FINAL

Not totally. We are still in a race for top 4. Nothing else to focus on
Teams now know how to play against us. We are far too predictable I'm afraid to sustain a challenge for top four.

Really need to prepare for next season now imo and try and be more inventive than so far this season.

Don't think we'll get anything against Emirates Marketing Project.

More worried about the other games tbh, it would be sexy to beat both Manchester clubs, but lose at home to Leicester and Villa.
Maybe not but we have shown this season especially at home we can give any of these sides a game. Why throw the towel in now. We owe city a beating too

It will come. This sort of thing doesn't happen overnight. We gave no right really to be challenging the others for a top four spot given the size of our stadium wage bill etc.

Emirates Marketing Project don't hold as much fear for me as Chelsea. They just don't seem themselves this season and I think we can hope for a point against them. We still have UTD and Southampton to play, two teams we are competing with. If we get results against them we can pick ourselves up. I don't think we will make top four, but I'm hopeful that we will make a good run of this next set of fixtures.

Worst week in our history?

Poor performance against Spam and hugely lucky to draw. Knocked out of two cups and all our rivals for fourth winning.

We have now scored one flukey goal and one penalty in the last three games.

Need to put this behind us quickly and move on.

I guess that it depends on what you were expecting at the start of the season. I was expecting nothing, and after the first six games realistically expected us to finish about eighth, so I'm not terribly dissapointed. Worst week in our history. No it doesn't even come close. I mean, sure , it's not been great but I've known far worse

I actually believe we could get decent results against both Manchester clubs, but will probably stumble against the likes of Burnley and Hull. That would be very much like us... :D

we aren't very technically skilled as a team. Eriksen is probably the best of a bad bunch (closely followed by Lamela, and then Kane),

Excellent thoughtful post Dubai.

I'm with you on most all of it and am reluctant to nitpick, but putting Lamela closely behind Eriksen and ahead of Kane as most technically gifted? I'm afraid I just don't see it. Do you think he is a technical passer? Dribbler? Finisher? What have you seen? Or perhaps I don't know what you mean by "technically skilled."

Chelscum fans have all but disappeared, us Spurs guys are getting tinkled out of our skulls.

Thank you. Re Lamela, when I say 'technically gifted', I mean that he has the ability to do the most outrageous things with the ball should he choose to. His lofted reverse pass against Fiorentina mid-week was sublime, the one that put Soldado through - and he's shown hints of doing that throughout this campaign, be it his daisycutter of a shot against..some PL side or other that led to his first goal in the PL, the outrageous rabona goal in the EL, the tricks and skills when taking on his man.....

There's no doubt that Lamela is just as skilled technically as Eriksen, as in he can do magnificently outre things with the ball at his feet if he chooses to. In my opinion, he's let down horribly by his decision-making - he rarely gets into the positions where his technical skills can do damage to the opposition, and when he does he usually just dribbles into a blind alley or something. So I guess I'm just using a very narrow definition of 'technically skilled', if that makes any sense at all.

Chelsea did not know how to play against us in the first half. What we lack is street smarts, experience was the difference between the teams today.

Chelscum fans have all but disappeared, us Spurs guys are getting tinkleed out of our skulls.

At the pub in Oslo today, packed with Spurs fans singing their heart out - and a small group of Chelskis, who barely sang before the final five minutes. Quite telling, really. I had to leave right after the game, but I'm sure the Spurs fans stayed behind and the Chelskis left. They really are a sorry bunch of ungrateful anuses.

2-0, my predicted scoreline. Should have put a bet on. To be honest, I didn't think we were ever really in the game other than in brief fits and starts. Eriksen's free-kick, had it gone in, might have changed the dynamic and delayed the inevitable, but the scum-suckers were always winning this. As I keep on saying, we've got too many technically average players, without either the skill or the patience to deliver in these types of games. When they all play well at the same time, we get good results, but today, all too predictably, they didn't. Our one and only genuine danger man, Kane, was marked out of the game, entirely as expected, and could do next to nothing with four Chelsea defenders descending on him every time he got the ball. Presumably, 6th place now qualifies for the You're-Ropey League, though, so finish ahead of Saints and we can probably achieve the same dubious honour as if we'd pulled off the unexpected today. Look forward to yet another season of nearlies and what-ifs next term as well, then.

What a downer of a post. I prefer to look on the fact that have a very young team. With a bunch of very young players still learning the game. We took the game to chelski. yes maybe they had more experience with us. Not suprising with the money they spend. But two deflected strikes apart they made nothing, neither did we but it was a tight game. We need some more creative attacking players. But im happy Poch took a season to take stock of what we had before wasting money on what we didnt need.

But my patience with Soldado is all gone. And its getting there with Lamela as well. Chadli for a sold called attacking midfielder is very on dimensional. We just need maybe two more players around Eriksen and Kane. Its painful when we have to make subs and bring on crap. I would like Salah from Chelski for example. Think he would do wonders in our team.

They did a very professional job on us. Eriksen and Kane nullified, the rest don't matter too much.
