How much do you guys think Pochettino's English has got to do with anything? Sure, he can make himself understood, but his English really isn't great. I can imagine it being very difficult for him to properly motivate and man-manage the lads that don't speak Spanish, and similarly for those players to really get the instructions and motivation they need. It was highlighted as one of the biggest issues with Juande Ramos back in the day.

I know it's probably only a fraction of the problem, but surely him not being able to communicate well enough on the mother tongue of most of the players has got something to say in the state of things. Especially when things are going rough, you imagine clear communication being of paramount importance.

Correct Jimmy (and apologies to all, my post wasn't very clear really). The 16 games refers to all 16 league games of Poch's first season with Southampton. I just put the stats for the first 11 of those 16 games to directly compare with the start Poch has made with us (we have played 11 league games so far).

Agreed, although I think it depends to an extent upon the position and the type of player.

The major concern with recruiting from Barca B is the fact that we'd be talking about a player who is almost certainly young and inexperienced - when one of the qualities we most lack is leadership.
 
As you can see, Mauricio Pochettino attended Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Numancia on Saturday.

The Argentine may have been in Catalonia for a holiday and a jolly during this week’s international break, but most likely he was there on a scouting mission.

Who he was watching is anyone’s guess – Barca have a shed load of talented youngsters and fringe players who might interest the boss – but maybe it was Adama Traoré, the 18-year-old winger who has long been linked with Spurs.

He made his debut for the first team against Granada in November last year but has reportedly been left frustrated by his lack of opportunities since then and could decide to leave in search of first team football.

If that happens, Spurs should be all over it. Former Barca boss Tata Martino identified Traoré as one of the best young players at the Nou Camp last season, which is some accolade, and his dribbling, pace and close control have earned comparisons with former Ars*nal winger Marc Overmars (even though he’s way, way more hench than the Dutchman).

Traoré is exactly the kind of player Spurs need. We’ve got guile in the final third (Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela) but we still looks a little short of pace, and a player as direct as Traoré could be a huge asset

Yup agreed. He only type of foreign player I would be signing in Jan would be a horrible Van Bommel type who can kick people up in the air (including our own players on the training pitch on Tuesday if they have bottled a tackle/failed to give their all on the Sunday)
 
Whilst he was at Spurs AVB was a regular Barca B watcher. How many Barca kids did we sign?

Even more impressive given how they've lost Reus, Neustadter and Dante in recent years. In fact, I believe they were sold/left in the same year.
