The Official 2014/15 Premier League Thread

So Liverpool dominate possession but create few clear cut chances and lose to a goal conceded from a set-piece... rather like Spurs of last season!

@StatsZone: #LFC 0-1 #AVFC http://fft.sm/2SybAi Incredibly, Liverpool managed only 1 of their 18 efforts on target

@OptaJoe: 6 - Aston Villa have more points (10) than shots on target this season. Efficient.

Last season? Dude it happened to us yesterday

Yep and on MOTD, Shearer applauding his 'strength' and 'fight'. Dude pretty much punched Gylfi in the face and it was completely swept under the carpet.

Not sure why it is a problem. Gylfi was also shoving him etc, just Costa was stronger - simple. The guy has definitely impressed me this season, didnt know too much about him but he will win Chelscum the league and possibly more. I wouldnt be complaining if we had one or two who played 'dirty'. I mean you got Senderos above giving Balotelli a dirty kick to get him off his stride.

One frustrating thing is how ordinary Liverpool have looked against everyone bar us.

They just came too early for us in the fixture list. Also, Poch's style plays into their hands somewhat. They weren't amazing against us imo, they got very lucky with the penalty that was awarded at the perfect time for them.

It would have been an interesting game if we'd have scored the first goal. Us chasing it was perfect for them. But they certainly aren't as special as RAWK seems to think they are. Replaced Suarez with Balotelli and bought some squad filler with the rest of the money. Sounds familiar...

Not quite, we created quite a few good chances and should have won easily. Pool only getting 1 on target at home to Villa is p1ss poor, and is more like us under AVB.

Some nice surprise teams early on. Villa still unbeaten and conceded 1 goal so far is pretty impressive. Swansea doing extremely well too and not forgetting Southampton who look better then they did last year, Tadic is looking a superb player, Pelle a goalscorer worthy of replacing Lambert and Schneiderlin really showing his importance.

Its's nice to see unpredictability. Arsenal failing to defeat Leicester, City losing at home to Stoke, Liverpool losing at home to Villa. United also failing to win a game thus far. Everton making a slow start etc. - Considering we have a new manager, lost one game (to Liverpool) and getting used to a new system which looks to be progressing well, we aren't doing too bad at all.

MUFC XI: De Gea Rafael, Evans, Rojo, Blackett, Blind, Herrera, Mata, Di Maria, Rooney, Van Persie

QPR XI: Green, Isla, Ferdinand, Caulker, Hill, Kranjcar, Sandro, Fer, Phillips, Austin, Hoilett

Oh absolutely, the guy is a beast of a player and I've got no issue with strong tackles, a bit of pushing and shoving etc. And I agree we could do with our lot playing that game a bit. but it looked to me like he just flat out clotheslined him across the face/neck in this instance! Should be an instant dismissal.

He does it most weeks, is a massively dirty player, he will cheat, dive and whack people every game, as I said he is a perfect fit for the rentboys

Man Utd are not even playing well, but QPR just have so many players that at best are championship level.

QPR wont get many points on the road this season, thats for sure.

Shocking how J Cesar came and went and Rob Green is still there after all this time

When Harry came in he immediately benched Cesar for Green IIRC, but Green made so many ****ups he was forced to change it back. Then Cesar got an injury and Green was back in. It was never about who was the better keeper, Harry wanted Green as his first choice. Must be a top, top lad.
