We all know you can't judge a player on one performance.

BUT IF YOU COULD... then we should transfer list at least half of the team out there. This is bloody awful football from Spurs, it really is.

Turgid.

I thought Paulinho was saving himself for the World Cup but it turns out he wasn't and he's playing just like he did before he went. He'd be the first out the door for me.

In all honesty, we have an average team. No world class players other than Lloris in our team.

Eriksen, our next best player but he is not world class.

I just know I'm going to be sitting there at white hart lane watching some utter utter awful football and see us lose a lot of games.....again.

Didn't understand why so many thought that we would see a different Soldado than we did all last season just because it is a new season he is utter ****. If anyone comes close to 10m we should get rid and bring in someone useful

At least when Townsend came on against West Ham he made a difference, as for Paulinho I cannot remember the last time he made a difference for club or country

And what happened to the bloody high press from pre season? WTF?

Playing a different formation today. 4-1-4-1, with Bentaleb sitting in front of the defence, Paulinho and Holtby in more advanced central midfield roles, Townsend on the right and Kane on the left. We started quite well, controlled everything in the first 10-15 minutes or so, and should have scored when Kane and Soldado had a double chance. Then we gave them a goal, and after that they gained confidence, and we have been rubbish.

Our defence is too easily split open by through balls, especially in the space between Davies and Vertonghen. On one occassion, Dier also dropped deeper than the rest of the defence on the other side to play the Cypriot onside.

I thought Bentaleb started the game very well and passed the ball around well from his deep midfield role. Less dominant later on in the half, though. Holtby and Paulinho can't seem to find their positions, and have done nothing at all of a positive note.

Townsend keeps running down blind alleys as usual on the right. If he plays, it has to be on the left for me. At least he can then run down the line and put some crosses in. Kane has been very positive. Good at finding space to recieve the ball, picks the right passes and even had a couple of good runs on the ball. At the end of one of them he was hacked down at the edge of the box, but the referee incredibly didn't give a free kick. He's been our best player, though.

Soldado has struggled, but is also often isolated in this formation.

Also Kane needs to be in the team only bright spot so far he makes things happen. He isn't foreign with a huge price tag that is the only reason our supporters aren't fully behind him

**** stream **** match.

It would be nice if we could just once turn up and comfortably win a game we are expected to.

Poor performance. Only player who looked decent was Kane who really is starting to look like a player. Went on a nice dribble as well which i didn't know he had in him. I'm really starting to dislike the fact we have so much possession in games and literally do nothing with it. We've seen that so many times in the past couple of years.

Hopefully Poch gives them a kicking at halftime.

*Toys out of pram moment* :)

Some of us remembered the 80 plus goals he scored in the previous 3 seasons and thought a settling in season he would find his groove

Halftime Stats don't look so doom and gloom. Too bad our play looked it.

I honestly am thinking there has to be an academy striker who can offer more of a threat than Soldado.

I'm hoping Sandro on for Paulinho second half. It might seem defensive, but it would allow Bentaleb more freedom to get something going forward like he did at the death against Westham. I don't see why Poch wouldn't go for it either considering he went with a midfield pairing of Wanyama and Schneiderlin quite a bit, both defensive minded (Wanyama moreso).

Naija's right though, we really do need a striker.
