Morgan Schneiderlin

It would have been a fitting way to have marked the 20th anniversary of Klinsmann day.

Jeepers, 20 years, unreal. Remember coming down to the lane on the train in those days and having a few quid on Kilnsmann 1st goalscorer each time, easy money. What a signing that was

Southampton chairman Ralf Krueger has told @SkySportsNews that Spurs targets Jay Rodriguez & Morgan Schneiderlin are to stay with #saintsfc.

Saints chairman Ralph Krueger has insisted that Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin will not be sold this summer.

Krueger spoke to the Daily Echo this afternoon and moved to reassure nervous fans over the future of the club and manager Ronald Koeman’s squad with five first team players already sold this summer and Schneiderlin and Rodriguez heavily linked with moves to Tottenham.

He said: “Specifically to Rodriguez and Schneiderlin, they will not be going anywhere.

“We see them as part of a core and the core we’ve got right now and in place is a core that is where Ronald would like to go and they a part of that core.

“Any reports that Rodriguez or Schneiderlin are leaving or we are in engaged in transfer conversations are totally off the mark.

“They will not be sold.”

So youve never seen a strongly worded statement stating not for sale followed by player being sold?

I have but not in this type of unique situation. No way would a chairman categorically state that a player will NOT be sold (after he's already sold most the team) unless he's simply looking for a way out of the club himself. Put it this way, if they're sold he'll have to resign imo.

Price has just increased for these players. I was starting to get excited by the Schneiderlin signing too

they will not be sold for derisory sums, that is what Freddie Kruegar really wants to say......Levy must have shocked everyone there with his offers:lol: Southampton want big bucks and only then will the players be sold. The club will then say the offers were too good to turn down blah blah blah

they also siad earlier that Lovren would not be sold......20 mill big ones later:-"

The way Ive read it is that they would have to go for proper money, and more than likely the players make it clear they want to go. There's already uproar, they've sold most of their assets already, whats the difference between him selling 5 of their top players and 7 one of who is injured?

He would not put himself in that kind of compromising situation AFTER selling all those players already. To categorically state that neither player is for sale...and then proceed to sell them? (regardless of money)? the man will have to leave with immediate effect.

He could have simply stated that no bids have been made etc etc..or that they're not looking to sell. He's stated (twice) that they WILL NOT BE SOLD.

If they want to leave, they'll leave. Schneiderlin has been kicking up a fuss all summer. He'll leave.

hMMMMM a big difference?

Did the chairman come out for any of the other players and state that the player will not be sold?
