Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Hopefully he's angling for a job at Liverpool, always got good things to say about them and clearly doesn't want to be at Spurs anymore.

Re: Do you want Tim Sherwood to stay as manager?

I think he certainly deserves a chance to be considered for the job.

If we can manage to win our last three PL games (we did last season), Tim Sherwood would have won 45 from 66 points available (68.18%).

That equates to 2.05 points per game, or around 78 points for a full season.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

More from that Guardian article:

The record's good – it is better than any Premier League manager in the history of this club. There has been no one at this club who has done a better job at the Premier League. My record stands for itself.

When I took over I told the chairman this would be a very difficult task to finish in the top four with the squad of players you've got. So I was very up front and honest with him. And I was still put in the position and just tried to do the best I can. It looks like the top-four has been a bridge too far unfortunately. I don't know if someone else could do better. If someone comes in with a magic wand perhaps. The only way for someone to do better is you need time with it.

Why not ask for one or two players in January then? You don't seem to have any issues about dragging everything else out into the media.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

I cannot wait to see someone defend Sherwood's latest diatribe via The Guardian (and doubtless other outlets)…

…he is a disgrace.

He throws out statements which hold as much weight as rice-paper. I cannot wait until he is ended as our 'manager'…I hope his attempts to audition for Norwich, etc off our back rebound on him, although then we'd have to likely suffer him as a pundit again.

I think the most interesting thing about that highlight statement is

I told the chairman this would be a very difficult task to finish in the top four with the squad of players you've got.

Not us.

You've.

****er. Unequivocally a ****er.

The more he opens his mouth the more he irritates me

The cretin always has something negative to say about our club

What a conundrum Tim Sherwood is!!! Many things he says are perfectly spot on ... "Homegrown players at Liverpool are embraced," he said. "They love homegrown players at Liverpool Football Club. Tottenham fans like signings. " "I only play young players who are good enough and at the moment there are two players playing better than Andros, in my opinion."

You cannot argue with those statements but they are simply not something anyone with a bit of grey matter would say publicly. All it does is rub people the wrong way. I actually think he could make a really good manager in a few year's time once he feels he is secure in a manager's role and not simply keeping the seat warm for someone else. However this will only happen if he changes his brash attitude - something which will not be easy considering it is exactly the same attitude he showed as a player - and actually understand his role is as much influencing behaviour as it is putting the right 11 players on a pitch.

"I'm getting the vibe that the players think don't they have to play for their club before they go on World Cup duty," Well, that's what you're there for, macaron! To motivate them, to make them want to do well for the club!!! If - by your own admission - you cannot do it, you should have no complaints come next summer.

You can argue with those statements. Especially the Liverpool one. I'm sorry, he's an idiot.

Liverpool 'like homegrown players'…what? Like Suarez, Mignolet, Henderson, Johnson, Sturridge, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Allen, Countinho? Give me a break!!!! Gerrard? There's one. Flannagan? There's two. Sterling? Nope. From QPR.

And it gets worse if you look back in their recent history, because Torres, Reina, Carroll, Downing, Keane, etc, etc, are not homegrown at all. THey are big money and Liverpool have been massive spenders over the last decade to little effect. Who have their outrageously supported youth products been I wonder?

Don't fall for his inveterate tripe. He is merely pimping youth players he has had a hand (thanks to Alex Inglethorpe for the hard work BTW) in developing.
Bentaleb? No argument, fine player? Kane? Highly rated at the club pre-Sherwood. Townsend (who funnily enough -as you mentioned- now cannot get a game under Sherwood) was given his full-papers by AVB in the end of it all.

Sherwood is now just showering press conferences with blustery garbage…it's embarrassing and it reminds me of someone else, although he was never quite this obvious.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

I don't think any fan gives a toss where players come from, it's how good they are that matters

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Liverpool have a higher net spend than almost every single club over the 20 years of the premier league. Every ****ing set of fans likes homegrown players.

Tim Sherwood has continued his campaign to remain as Tottenham Hotspur manager for next season

Have to say I laughed heartily at this, the opening line.

Ironically, he has conclusively put himself out of the running next year due to his ****ing mouth. His results are in some ways, quite good. I don't subscribe to the opinion by some on here that anybody can be a manager and get good results.

However, in his 4 months here, he has managed to insult the chairman, his predecessors, the fans and probably most importantly, the players as a group and increasingly more and more players by name.

And despite his spiel about homegrown players.....he then goes on to explicitly name another player he currently doesn't consider good enough and says there are 2 signings who are playing better than him. Genius.

If asked, I'm sure every single manager in world football would prefer Ronaldo for 2-3 years (he was actually there for 6) then ****ing Phil Neville and Carragher. At least say Giggs, Scholes and Gerrard, then you might have a bit more of a point.

Finally, what is his obsession with Liverpool?

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Tim Sherwood really is old school...

you cant defend this obsession he has with Liverpool but he makes some relevant points...I was at the fulham game and there wasnt much love for Kane but lots of chanting for Soldado...

This guy is really interesting...I think he makes a few of you a little to mad ;)...someone said he is brash, spot on.

At the end of the day Levy will appoint a more experienced and less volatile coach than Sherwood...and most of you will be happy...personally I dont mind reading comments from the man in charge that makes me stop and look at things from a different angle...now before I get slaughtered yes I know some of it is a load of B***ocks but some of it is thought provoking.

what im trying to say is stop getting your knickers in a twist everyone.....its not for much longer.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Don't have any issues with what he's said. Love his brutal, direct assessment of circumstances and players. We are doing better under Sherwood, statistically and artistically, than with AVB. The players evidently support this because they are still playing hard for Sherwood as the season winds down. Why else did we come back from 3-0 down at The Hawthorns?

Sure, we could have done better against the top four and mighty West Ham. But injuries have had an impact at some untimely moments.

Again, since Daniel Levy closely monitors and reacts to this influential, opinion-shaping forum, here's one fan who will be fine if Sherwood is back next year.
