OMT - 22.12.13 - 13:30 -Tottenham VS Southampton @ St, Mary's

'And Southamptons week just get worse and worse'

Nah...didnt hear the commentator say that when we scored. He revelled in that opening Soton goal, and nearly came Lambert scored. So anti-Spurs its unreal.

Great great result. Not his biggest fan, but hats off to Tim Sherwood. Attacking team selection, brave sub in Bentaleb, got a great tune out of Adeabyor.

Cant believe we are only 6pts off the top, unreal. Big big two home games coming up, 3 out of the next 4 at home. Really great chance to get back in the mix.
But, the best thing to come out of today, we got our Spurs back, and oh how I have missed you

Ade basically saying he needs an arm around him to get the best out of him.

Redknapp said that one time. Said he thought Ade was a real confident type at first but then realised it was all a front and he needs an arm round him and to be told he's great to get a performance out of him.
I said at the time we signed him AVB was never gonna get performances out of him

I would say it was after 15 mins when he came downstairs. He tweaked the tactics

lol I was trying to say that my long winded babble on page 5 was partially responsible for our cracking result.......

interesting though whether thats gonna be a thing with him....directors box for 20 mins and then change things tactically....very interesting.

TS said after the game that he couldn't sit still and he wanted to come downstairs and shout at the team as we were so poor. I actually liked that TS says we were poor first half... I would not like it if he said "that was great, we were solid" as we clearly weren't and we kept giving the ball away with little chips upfield to nobody. You have to keep the ball on the deck. You have to have the balls to keep it down and move and make angles, not just knock it long for Ade to battle with 2 centre backs.

He said he came down because of an issue with the microphone I think or that it wasn't the same simply relaying through the people on the bench, but still struggled to get any messages out there until HT.

I dont think it was his intention - I think we got overrun and looked poor in the first 20 mins so he was forced into that position. But I like the fact he was proactive about it rather than waited to see it till HT.

I almost, almost, made a comment before the game about Bentaleb being a great option for the future as the DM because he's more likely to cover the ground than Sandro and Capoue lol. What a game from the lad, as Neville said he came on and looked more assured than many players who have been in the game for years.

As someone said, we made plenty of individual mistakes, but still won. The start we had in the second half and the following 20 minutes was great, really took the game to them :)

One thing that did crack me up. Neville talking up Soldado's movement and how good it's been this year. Did he forget how he had slated the man's movement a couple of months back? Pundits really are fickle.

why start in the directors box though????? was there anyone who asked that question..... my missus asked me that and I nearly said 'oh he's on a touchline ban' then I thought no he's not wtf is he doing sitting there.

When I saw the line up before the game I feared the worst and when the defence parted like the Red sea for their 1st i thought we were done, but after the 2nd half performance it should have been a more comfortable last 15 mins. At least we all have smiles in our house after that. After the pedestrian crap we have had to endure this year that was needed

Yeah, I were thinking the same and the other one that made me smile were Nev's constant marveling at Lamela's work rate lol

He always sat there for Harry and fed back at half time what he saw. That's how I met him a few times.

You get a much better view there than you do pitch side

Spurs with the Premier League's best away record then.

Funny old game, football.

according to some our season is over!!!!!!!

if we can somehow get 2 home wins then that brings us to the halfway stage of the season looking very healthy......

today was a massive win.....but it means little if we cant sort the home form out!!

yeah I agree....so what im asking/wondering is that going to be a regular thing with him......

We need to get the defense sorted....and give llorris some confidence pills!

Its crazy to perform better awy from home.... Maybe our pitch isn't enough

He wanted a proper overview of the pitch to see what was going on tactically. Its very hard to see from the bench.

Credit to TT for using Bentaleb and getting a game out of Ade.

Soldado looked dangerous, as did Chadli, Rose gives us balance down the left, but we desperately need Verts back. We're so sloppy at the back, and Lloris needs to have a look at himself.

A new hope...
