*******TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS Saudi Sportswashing Machine OMT**********************

Negative vibes are ebbing away now, should have had a least a couple of goals that 2nd half perfomance deserved

COYS

Still we should have had at least a draw today, and when we beat Emirates Marketing Project next all will be good in the world again
But we won't, we will have a lot of the ball but do nothing with it while they kill us with incisive attacks - 3-0 City

got to admit I am absolutely gutted about today.....I have backed AVB but am infuriated that Lamela had no game time today....would have preffered him to defoe sub.

Its really hard to stay positive after that.....seems like so many oppo goalies have worldies at the lane....the truth is we are nowhere near clinical.

my positivity is waning todays game was the height of frustration and Townsend who I have also backed was so frustrating today......

gonna be another mazing weekend for the goons by the looks of things.

Unfortunatly i think you are right, but at least I can dream. Its all going to click soon and we will start smashing everyone in sight. No wait..... its Spurs we are talking about!

This 2nd half is karma for the games we have won and not really deserved to. Today, Krul is playing a blinder and we're not getting the luck in the box.

The most sensible post in this thread.

4-4-2 or at least the option of 4-4-2 at home. Kane/Another kid and Defoe on the bench.

he's had a good day but I wouldn't say they have been wonder saves, more a case of poor finishing in my opinion
Good save form Soldado in the first half but the other saves he barely had to stretch for.
Soldado as the sole striker is not working. Defoe was tried and he did not score either.

What I do find strange about gg is that certain fans latch on to one player. Either to constantly attack that player or constantly defend that player. Regardless. Either the same few people criticising Walker or Dawson in every single match thread. Or the same people defending Defoe or Townsend, regardless of legitimate criticisms. Its like being at an under 15s game and criticising someone's son.

Going 4-4-2 today was not a good decision by AVB. We looked significantly better in 4-3-3 leading up to that and not all that long after going 4-4-2 we were reduced to moving Dawson up as a striker and start hoofing it. Even more frustrating when we have a seemingly in form creative player like Lamela on the bench that is capable of creating chances.

Before the game I said we did not have a sensible 4-4-2 option. Soldado and Defoe is the most dumbester 4-4-2 in the EPL.

I'm not against a 4-4-2 option and an in form Ade or similar player would be really good for us, but I think it's naive to think that a change in formation to 4-4-2 is some kind of golden solution to our problems.

We showed in that second half today what we can do with a lone striker, we outplayed Saudi Sportswashing Machine completely and were unlucky not to turn the game. We need AVB to figure out whatever it is that is stopping us from playing like that more often, not just make a change in formation.

Vertonghen was very good today, lots of good crosses.

Huge missed opportunity today.

AVB killed us by changing the formation when we were dominant; stupid decision, the sort of thing a kid would say "ooh we haven't scored, let's throw on 'Goals' Defoe!"

Defoe is not a match winner....never has been never will be.....

not in the prem at any rate!

This thread is utterly hilarious. Well played to Mumorn, the last few pages of spoilt children accusing him of not being a Spurs fan or other such rubbish, he's the only one looking like an adult until Nexus showed up.

Seriously guys, grow up.

Did we deserve to lose today? Clearly not. Can it happen in football? Yes, regularly, and will do so to the other teams too. Are our lives dramatically affected by this result? Not in the slightest.
