*** Tottenham Hotspur - Arsenal OMT ***

Think Holtby deserves to start after his performance last night and will also be helpful having him snapping into the heels of the extra CM which **** have.

Also I don't see what CHadli has done to be picked ahead of Lennon or Townsend, assuming Lennon is fit.

I'd therefore go with the following, assuming no new signings are available:

-----------------------------Lloris------------------------------

Walker----------Kaboom--------------Verts---------------Rose

-----------------Capoue---------------Paulinho-----------------

Lennon----------------------Holtby-----------------------Townsend

-----------------------------Soldado----------------------------

Lloris

Walker - Dawson - Verts - Rose

Capoue Dembele

Lennon Paulinho Chadli

Soldado

subs: Friedel, Townshend, Defoe, Siggy, Sandro, Kaboul, Carroll

Last night's MOTM scores his 2nd 20-yarder of the week and doesn't even get a place on the bench? You are difficult to please!

Forgive my ignorance, but when was his first? Also, I believe it was his first game back after injury. The only swap id make would be Townsend for Lennon if Azza is injured, in which case your boy walks onto that bench with aplomb ;-)

In the U21 game the other night.

As for retuning from injury - Lennon gets straight back into the 11?

I'm a fan of Rose but i would go with Vertonghen at LB for this one (think we can hurt them at set pieces). I prefer Townsend on the right but i think he'll be more effective on the left against Gooners..with Holtby on the right side and cutting in. Holtby can have a big game on sunday.

This one should be a good game.

Arsenal seems to have their confidence back but I don't mind that. We know what happens when they play us their back against the wall...

As for us, I am a bit worried this game comes a little bit too soon. This will be a big test for the new players.

Podolski out is a big blow for the them. Make sure you have Capoue/Sandro kicking Cazorla all game. And make sure you mark Giroud quite well and we should be fine.

GHod help us all

74.0 scum

Di Maria and Ozil to run the show

Fabregas to score all of them as a 2nd half sub

Campbell to rock bottom AVB

Loris

Walker
Kaboul
Verts
Rose

Kapoue
Sandra/Dembele

Pauline

Townsend
Soldado
Chadli/Holtby

They won't be able to keep the ball for long periods to protect that shoddy defense so I think we'll cause them problems with our pace. They'll no doubt get shot every time we tackle them so Michael Oliver better be up for the task.

I'm going for a draw 1-1.

I think there are two key issues here:

1. Where Cazorla plays. If he's out on the left, which I suspect he will be, I think we'll be fine, as they're at their most effective when the the ball is played out quickly and effectively to Walcott. Rosicky is very capable, and one of the better players in the league at making things happen and looking forward, but it seems as if Cazorla's got that extra dimension - either foot and, from what I've seen, a better range of passing. Press, press, press.

2. The defensive shift from the team. Last week against Fulham, Walcott had free reign of the right hand side, due to the midfield overload Arsenal had. Kasami, Taarabt and Duff failed miserably in their defensive duties, whereas Sagna and Gibbs were constantly getting forward, meaning it was 5 v 3, time after time. Whoever plays on our wings will need to be mindful of this - particularly on our left hand side. Chadli worries me to an extent here, but assuming we go for our battling midfield 3 (Capoue/Paulinho/Dembele, I think Chadli has to play, as he's a goal threat.

Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Ramsey, Wheelchair, Rosicky; Walcott, Cazorla, Giroud

Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Capoue, Dembele, Paulinho; Townsend, Chadli, Soldado

Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Ramsey, Wheelchair, Rosicky; Walcott, Cazorla, Giroud

Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Capoue, Dembele, Paulinho; Townsend, Chadli, Soldado

I think we look stronger, only have to really worry about the Rosicky-Carzola-Walcott combination, but even then we have pace in our back line and I think we can handle it.

Our midfield should absolutely beast theirs.

Looking at the teams people are posting, they look good but there is definitely still something missing for me.

I could be totally wrong, but I have come to strongly believe we're buying Lamela as a No.10 in a 4-2-3-1. That would make everything click into place I think.

The two channel positions either side of Erik being fought over by Chadli, Eriksen, Holtby, Siggs, Lennon, Townsend etc. The back 2 slots in midfield being contested by Paulinhio, Sandro, Dembele, Capoue. And of course, if we need to play other formations for whatever reason, it shouldn't be a problem rejig things here and there with all that talent.

Putting our future Galactico and record/marquee singing Lamela there at the middle of everything - where I think he wants to play too - gives us a spine of: Lloris >>> Verts/Kab >>> Paulinhio >>> Lamela >>> Soldado. That spine makes more sense - in terms of what might be in AVB's mind - than having Eriksen or Holtby at No. 10 I think.

How many times have Kaboul and Vertonghen played together? Is this a game for an unfamiliar CB partnership?

Vertonghen was interviewed after yesterday's game and said it was the first time he had played with Kaboul.

Huge issue for me is Walcott versus Rose. I don't trust Rose for second there. I don't particularly fancy Vertonghen out there against him neither but he;s less likely to make a **** up than Rose.

Certainly a real test for Rose and arguably his first this season. Absolutely no way we should move Vertonghen out there.
