Willian

Maybe there was a reason for the drawn out nature of the deal and the fact Baldini was not involved. ITK has it that Levy thought it was too much money. I thought so, too.

If he had to go elsewhere I am glad it is Chelsea because he does not improve them. Just means some cheap £20 mill player goes out on loan.

If we have £30 mill to spend there are others out there for sure.

Its just gluttony that's all it is...Mourinho gets to throw a spanner in the works of the Bale deal....getting his own back on Madrid......it also stop us strengthening and in their eyes challenging them.

32m is nothing to abramohvic it really is just a dirty piece of business by them. disgusting how they horde players and loan them all out....

they really are everything that's wrong with modern football. That said without knowing the full details we should have had this one In the bag and we cant complain of being gazumped when we have done it to others.

we must move on a progressing forward we need to get everything signed pending a medical....which to my understanding was always the last process on the agenda anyway.......

We need to move on and try and get deals done differently moving forward....(quicker if possible)

We really cant afford to lose bale without bringing in a replacement.....sorry gareth

maybe the Willian deal was what put Lamela on hold and we never intended on buying both - i hope that isn't the case as we do need a Willian type player alongside Lamela if Bale is to leave. just throwing it out there

right, i've calmed down now. still think ITK's are **** buckets but hey ho.

on to better players ...pjanic please. and on KD's reccomendation ...Dzagoev

Normally I don't give a f.uck what Chelsea do or Emirates Marketing Project for that matter. S.hitty little clubs whose disgusting owners spunk obscene amounts of money on to compensate for their small dingdongs. They are just vanity projects and nothing they do will ever mean anything.

But this I have found absolutely disgusting. Willian was not bought by Chelsea for footballing reasons. Mourinho didn't ask for this player, Chelsea don't need him. Abramovich just woke up the other day and saw Spurs name all over the media and decided to throw £50 mil of his 'hard earned money' away as a spoiling tactic. That's it. That is the only reason he bought Willian, to stop us getting him, and if you think it is something else then you are being monumentally naive. The sooner this revolting snot of a person p.isses off the better.

How did this guy ever pass the fit and proper persons test with his history?

Agree with others on this thread that it's an odd move for Chelsea. They're not exactly short in that position and I don't see him improving their squad the way he probably would do for ours.

Still. Onwards and upwards. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Coentrao, Lamela and a centre-back.

I feel like we're in Tony Soprano's Crew and we've just been ripped off on a score by Phil Leotardo and the New York Crew.

Bit laughable all round really. I find it difficult to believe that there was real genuine interest from Chelsea given the fact that they knew he was available since us and Liverpool went for him. To go for him even a few hours after it was going round that he had passed his medical with us smacks of some kind of publicity stunt but hey what are you going to do.

I have to say in previous seasons i might be a bit gutted but given the structure we have in place now and the business we have already done i am 100% sure that the right decisions will be made to keep us moving forward \o/

The question is, will this £30m be spent elsewhere(and not on players we were already targeting) or will it mysteriously disappear?

im sure if we can find the players and convince them to join then we will spend the dosh

Levy did brilliant on the Willian deal if reports are to be true. im sure he didnt want to deal with Jooratichan and pay as much as 30 mill, but he did all these and even agreed to pay the fee in two years

Levy did his utmost=D> fair play

Brendan Rodgers has hinted that Willian's decision not to join Liverpool is related to money and not football.
The Anfield club were reported to have made the first approach for the Brazilian winger, but were gazumped by Tottenham before a late bid from Chelsea ensured Rodgers missed out on the former Shakhtar Donetsk man.

But while the Northern Irishman admitted that he was disappointed not to have signed the 25-year-old, he questioned the reasons behind the player's choice.
"It’s disappointing because this was a player who would have been perfect for us," Rodgers admitted. "It wasn’t a football [decision] and I don’t really want to go into it… that’s for us as a club really.

"The bottom line is he hasn’t come here for whatever reason and we move on.

"We identify the targets and then try and get the deal done financially. That’s how it was.

"The club has pushed financially as hard as they felt they could but it wasn’t to be."

Willian only signed for current club Anzhi Makhachkala in January but has now been made available for transfer after the Russian outfit moved to off-load some of their top earners.
