Players Out: Rumours and Discussion

Hull want Jake Livermore on loan from Tottenham as well as a permanent deal for Tom Huddlestone.

Steve Bruce would love to add the Spurs central midfielders to his squad as he looks to keep the Tigers in the Premier League.

Hard to see Jake or getting a look in ATM. EPL loan would do him good.

How ambitious is Hudd? Maybe he could shine for another club and put himself into the England frame?

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has insisted that Jermain Defoe and Gylfi Sigurdsson both figure in his first-team plans this season.

Defoe has been consistently linked with a move away from White Hart Lane in recent weeks, following the arrival of Spanish striker Roberto Soldado in a club-record deal.

Sigurdsson also faces a fight for regular football following the acquisitions of Paulinho and Nacer Chadli during the close season, but Villas-Boas remains adamant that neither player will be sold this summer.

He told The Express: "They are players we count on 100%. Sigurdsson is completely in our plans.

"Defoe is a hero for Tottenham and has been doing well. He faces competition which he has always faced during his career."

Spurs are also in talks to complete a deal for Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue ahead of Sunday's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park

Quite happy with this, of all the players rumoured out - these are two or the more important squad players for us - so will play a role this season I think.

I don't see selling Defoe as a real option this summer. Whilst not a starter, he is most effective as an impact player used from the bench. I could have seen him as a makeweight in a deal for Benteke but personally would not sell.

Defoe will score some goals off the bench this season, pretty confident about that.

Not to mention there are League Cup and EL games for him to get stuck into.

Siggy has all the makings of a top player for me, want him at the club!

Rumour on the SS news website

We are hearing reports that Watford are lining up a loan move for Tottenham's highly-rated Tom Carroll. Carroll is highly-rated at White Hart Lane, but they could be willing to loan him out that he gets some regular first-team action.

I think the two players are viewed differently by AVB. Soldado replaces JD IMO.

I think The Sigg will be a major player for us this term.

Ince is in line to replace Andros Townsend, with the young wideman wanted full-time by Harry Redknapp at Queens Park Rangers.

Townsend, who impressed for the relegation-bound Rs last season after Redknapp signed him on loan, would be part of a £5million double deal also taking Scott Parker from White Hart Lane to Loftus Road.

I don't get this.

Ince is a risk.

Maybe there are other issues about Andros.

Looks like Parker might end up at Fulham now instead of QPR.
It would be his fifth London club. That must be some kind of record

i think selling Townsend to QPR and then bringing in Ince would be an odd decision.
I'm no great Townsend fan but at least he's proven in the Prem (to some extent), has UEFA experience and can therefore do a job as a squad player.
Ince is completely unproven and at a time when we are undertaking a massive overhaul to the squad, keeping some consistency (especially with fringe players) would be sensible.

The trouble with Ince would be his dad hanging around, rent-a-quote in the press, stirring up media interest and gobbing off about being the guvnor and not being given a fair crack of the whip and starting ahead of established players yadda yadda. Do not want that taco hanging about our gaff.
