Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

One thing I'm becoming increasingly convinced of is that nothing will change now before deadline day. This will either be an 11th-hour departure or nothing, IMO.

I would absolutely hate that. I don't think Ballague has it right to be honest. I mean, he does if he thinks our ambition is to challengie for a top 4 spot. We buy AVB's players and we give ourselves a good shot of that. But with Bale, we could challenge for the title. Without Bale, but with quality replacements signed for the fee we receive, we probably could as well.

If we are to sell Bale, it absolutely cannot derail our progress or plans for this season. If we sell him and only replace him with players we will have signed anyway, it has set us back.

other than the "11th hour", the other trigger point could be after we've bought all the players we want, so that we don't suffer a price inflation from selling clubs who want a piece of the pie.

Re: Gareth Bale

Now is not the time to talk...kind of suggests he's waiting to unleash some sort of verbal diatribe at the club!

I'm sorry I can't speak though just suggests he's happy not to speak and isn't really fussed either way.

To be honest I think he's staying silent and it's actually what Spurs would want him to do too. If a fee can be agreed, to the extent that Spurs are happy with it, he doesn't want to jepordise the move for him and Spurs by saying anything. Similarly if it didn't happen, he doesn't want to burn bridges. Clever guy, and I think there's a much bigger chance of him staying than media have given credit for.

Just me who thinks he might have said "I don't have time to talk" which has been interestingly translated?

but it looks like we are on the way to spending nearly 100 mill pounds. 60 mill already if we include Capoue, if we sign Lamela or Willian then thats another 25 mill plus. Plus im sure others are on their way. If we do all our business before we sell Bale then it doesnt matter when we sell him

Re: Gareth Bale

It's clear that the Spanish media have a massive ego about this, and if Bale stays, well, they are going to look like complete idiots.

Ok, as long as it's absolutely all of our business, and not all of our business we had planned for before thinking of selling Bale. Then it's fine.

They just have entire sports papers to fill each day. And Barca have made their marquee signing for the summer so they now write about Real. Given the quote was reported in one of their rags, it wouldnt surprise me at all if it was completely made up

Re: Gareth Bale

That idiot Paul Breen-Turner was on with Hawksbee & Jacobs earlier today claiming Bale had already agreed personal terms with Real Madrid and it was just a matter of time before Levy accepted their offer.

Re: Gareth Bale

Balague might have some contacts in Spain but he knows nothing about AVB's opinion or Bale's I doubt. In fact seeing as Bale hasn't given a quote all summer and neither has his agent then it's obvious all these Bale thinks that etc are pretty much guess work.

Re: Gareth Bale

Former Real Madrid director of football Arrigo Sacchi has suggested that the club's pursuit of Gareth Bale is a "commercial stunt".

The Welsh winger is valued at around €120 million by Spurs and the Blancos are locked in talks with the Premier League side over a potential switch for the ex-Southampton man.

Although Sacchi does not dooubt that Madrid could sign Bale, he believes that his former club have money firmly in mind with the attempted signing of Bale.

"€120m is a huge amount of money," he told Meridiano. "I think it's just a commercial stunt. For Real Madrid to take a British player, it's probably for sponsor-related reasons.

Sacchi had much more positive things to say about Carlo Ancelotti, who replaced Jose Mourinho as head coach at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

"Florentino Perez wanted Ancelotti at Madrid for some time," the Italian revealed. "He was already talking about him when I was there [2004-05] and I am not surprised that in the end he went there really.

"He's a great coach and he has everything to win trophies and do well at Madrid."

Re: Gareth Bale

If Bale has been put back on the BT add...that must surely mean he is staying..

I cant see BT messing around just to cover whats going on!

Come on you Spurs

Re: Gareth Bale

Seriously SSN , is there any footballer you havent asked for an opinion on Bale, getting beyond pathetic now, keep hoping you get the story your so desperate to report on

I'm taking it as a good sign. Part of me would like to think BT have had a quiet word with the THFC heirarchy to see what the score is, but the sensible part says that wont have happened

to be fair they are doing the same with Roo & Chomper........some of them would sell their souls for that Exclusive....

Nigeyman understands that sky sports news understands as much as markysimmo concerning the big three saga's

Three weeks or so and we know either way........ then perhaps we can start to regain sanity....normality... rather than hunting for any clue as to where Bale will be......

Balewatch can be replace by neighbourhood watch.

Re: Gareth Bale

Could watch Bale highlights for days. It's amazing how many penalty appeals we had turned down in this one. I miss this team. Hate to say it, but I miss Modric as well.

No the worst is still to come.
A lot of people have come to the conclusion that he's staying but Real will come in a pay the money.
This place will be in meltdown.
