Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Don't buy that for a second. We've spend 35m net so far this summer. We're getting around 30m extra in TV money this year.
And then there's the rumours that Lewis has loaned us 50m interest free over the next 10 years.

its not about net spend. its about risk exposure and squad valuation

you know how if you spend money on a 1billion pound house. no matter how bad things get you know you still have a 1 billion pound house...which means you are literally living in your money in a sort of credit fashion. if you spend 1billion pounds on a chocolate house...your risk exposure is that much bigger every HOT summer, you wont get your money back

this thing with soldado has REALLy thrown me out of my comfort zone in that now i dont know at all what our theme is. And i dont know the reason why we were wiling to do that.

anyones guess mate

Re: Gareth Bale

I'm leaning that way now, yes, but I'm just saying if he does end up being sold, I don't think all of the money will be reinvested(on top of the money we've already spent).

In:
Paulinho £17m
Chadli £6m
Soldado £25.8m

Out:
Caulker £9m
Dempsey £6m

So our net spend so far is £33.8m. Let's say Bale and a couple of others are sold, bringing in £100m. I don't think we'd then reinvest that £100m, maybe £65m at most leaving us with a break-evenish window.

Maybe, but by investing i assumed ( maybe wrongly) that would mean some money for the new stadium ( which we need badly).

Maybe it is something very simple like Levy has decided to back his manager. Lets face it even if we were not going to lose Bale this summer we still would have bought Soldado. After 2 consecutive seasons of missing out on CL by 1 point maybe Levy things if he backs his manager we might actually do it. I think it is important that this summer we are going for players that I think AVB wants and that they are not being forced on him

Re: Gareth Bale

You can't replace a player like Bale.
Our squad is actually quite strong and I don't think we need to be spending over £10m on any one position now.

I'd like to see all of the Bale money invested into an actual stadium now.

Re: Gareth Bale

Ferdinand just said its inevitable he will leave sometime in the future...

WTF does that mean really, it was said with a smile on his face

well it sort of is inevitable. He deserves to play for the the biggest teams in world football

 Bale is gone....just need to accept it

Re: Gareth Bale

are you denying Madrid are one of, if not the biggest team in world football and Bale doesn't deserve to play for them?

TBH I fudging hate them, they are a bunch of ****s, they are massively underhanded and act very small time in getting all the ex players coaches, players to tap Bale up in the media...

Only person at the club who hasnt said anything about Bale is the guy who sells the jambo y queso's outside the ground on match day

I wish Levy would tell them pubically that he wont sell Bale to them, id rather sell him for half next year to any other club

Re: Gareth Bale

Ah ok, well then he's certainly off then.

I dunno . Other signs arent looking great. but I mean if you are reading into what Ferdinand said alone well you can take it either way.

Of course he is going to leave at some point in the future!!! Maybe tomorrow maybe five years maybe ten.
