****OMT- TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS Chelski**********

Why do we want to be in the CL to play teams like Madrid, Munich and Barca if we are "proud" to draw against Chelsea. I am proud of little tottenham hotspurs fighting against all the odds to scrape a point against Chelsea in a game we needed to win? For the last few months we've thrown it all away like last year and are now relying on others to help us qualify, thats embarressing and shows our lack of spirit and quality.

Who exactly do you think Spurs are? Have you noticed the difference in revenue the teams either generate or their rich owners fund them with compared to us? I think its pretty damn great that we are competing and even beating teams who have a far bigger advantage.
If you expect Cl football every season and feel embarrased when it doesn't happen then you are supporting the wrong team.

Given the squad that we have and the key injuries we have had I think AVB has done wonders this season. If we can strengthen the squad between now and next year I feel confident that we can continue to improve. While we can argue that we shouldn't need to score late goals the fact that we have done so on so many occasions bodes well for a tougher squad mentality. If we can buy a striker (now there's an original thought) who can bang in 15/20 goals a season we can kick on.

COYS!!!!

Firstly, I couldn't care less what the media says about Torres. That also isn't true anyway, as Torres has been the subject of non stop ridicule from the media and opposition fans since his move to Chelsea.

Nobody is expecting him to score a goal like this every game. What we are expecting is something akin to the performances he's been putting in over most of the past 6-7 years, including what we saw last year in our own shirt. Hold up play, scoring goals, assisting, the ability to strike the ball like a proper footballer.

Today, we saw all those qualities again. For most of his 4 goal season, we haven't. Whether you want to believe its because he doesn't have confidence in himself anymore or he doesn't care or whatever your theory, it just doesn't matter. His performances, for the most part, have not been acceptable this season, especially considering he is one of our highest paid players.

When I've been at the ground, I've stood Ade's ground. I've tried cheering him when people groaned or ironically cheered him. I had a huge argument with the dingdonghead I was sitting next to the in the Lyon game who did nothing but abuse Ade all game.

But when I'm back here on the board, I'll air my views on Ade. And that is that he has been close to appalling for most of the season. Forget the wondergoal, obviously that wa sa bit of a freak but the rest of his game today was much closer to what he should be offering on a relatively regular basis and what we actually know he can offer on a relatively regular basis.

Anyway, enough negativity.

Outstanding from Walker and Ade today.

Real shame we couldn't quite go that extra mile in the end and it will be very difficult now to finish top 4. I don't think we'll do it but I hope the players fight to the final minute of the final day. There's still a few surprises in the 6 matches left between us I feel.

This whole idea that everyone is against Ade and he's a victim really is a fallacy. Firstly, do you think maybe there might be a reason why so many fans, ex players and so on aren't too impressed by him? Secondly, they slate him because he's been crap this season and that's all there is to it.

Needed a point tonight, got a point. Decent result, move on to Stoke. If we don't get top 4 it won't be tonight when we lost it

Whilst I agree Arsenal's form/results has been great recently, we always fall just that little bit short right at the end. I honestly believe that win over scum in March and a 7 point lead should have been enough to see us over the line. Obviously I expected them to close the gap, but they did it in about 4 games.

In fairness, I do actually agree that this hasn't been our standard end of season collapse.

We've won 5 and drawn 3 of the past 10 games (it was 6 and 2 before Chelsea). Someone posted up a 2013 table a few days ago and we were just a couple of points behind both Arsenal and Chelsea over the period (though now Chelsea won at OT, its probably more like 5 points now but anyway..)

We haven't really 'collapsed'. Had our customary end of season absolute shocker (Fulham) but the results in general haven't been horrific.

Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say the other teams have been ruthless and efficient. And if Arsenal and Chelsea do that, that is what I'll be saying.

I am fudging sick of this attitude from some of our fans. If all you care about is success, go and support Chelsea or Emirates Marketing Project or PSG. Our lack of quality? That's probably because we' can't afford to spend £130m on our front four.

Once again our manager is a victim of his own success earlier on in the season. Very few were expecting us to qualify for the CL at the beginning of the season.

If all I cared about was success I wouldnt be a Spurs fan, but we havent even performed that well footballing wise this year. We have been dire in many games and still won. We cant really compete with Arsenal, Chelsea and the Mancs realistically but we had a window now where Chelsea and Arsenal are in a kind of transition. I dont see how we'll compete next year as we'll lose players now.

Oh yeah, it's nothing like last season. But we just never quite do enough. I accept that Arsenal have gone a very good run, but with a 7 point lead, we didn't even have to match their results let alone better them.

because Utd's team is made up of freebies isn't it .. apart from ..

de Gea 18m
Rio 30m
Smalling 10m
Jones 16m
Vidic 6m
Evra 6m
Valencia 18m
Carrick 18m
Anderson 18m
Young 17m
Nani 17m
Kagawa 14m
Rooney 28m
Van Persie 24m

etc etc

midfield that dominated for a decade winning the majority of his trophies

keane 3.5m
giggs 0m
scholes 0m
butt 0m
Beckham 0m

If we don't finish top 4, I will look back to that Fulham game as the big one. I can forgive some of the shockers at the beginning of the season because AVB and everyone was still getting settled in.

But Fulham were on such a poor run and have continued that run by performing even worse and gaining even less points since beating us. Leaves a bitter taste in the mouth for sure.

I'm not saying united are cheap, just that they have been outspent many times yet still ended up winning the league

The fact that he applied himself today shows that he knows his days are numbered here. Hes looking for another mug to pick up his salary. Its not like fans have driven him out like Armstrong or Ghaly, its worse - people expect nothing from him now hence the reaction to him scoring today. The man is a joke and its useless blaming fans for this as the real joke is he's laughing his way to the bank while we are debating his first decent performance in months.

guy can't win can he. damned either ways.

I dont rate us amongst the best and I know Spurs are not in the elite group all too well. I remember last year arguing this exact point where people were saying if we had a better tactician we'd have had x amount of points more when I argued we couldnt compete financially. But its obvious to everyone at key points we have made big mistakes, particularly in the transfer windows its frustrating. I accept that we wont make the CL now and look forward to going further in the Europa league.

Szczesny told Arsenal Player "If you look at Chelsea's fixtures, they have Tottenham and Everton left and they won't be easy games. And Tottenham do not have enough quality, so…"

I agree with this, its more about team spirit. How many times do you hear interviews about how hurt they were about losing out last year and how this time they were going to put it right and learn from their mistakes. Compare it to us and how we didnt strenghten in January and the same type of performances particularly against Fulham and Southamton. If you dont learn and improve, how do you expect things to change?

Giving up the two late goals to lose to Liverpool immediately after winning the NLD was it for me. Totally reversed the team's momentum, and league losses to Fulham and Swansea followed. We gave up prime pole position.

Not to ruin your point, but we beat Swansea 2-1..
