****OMT- TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS Chelski**********

How many points did we have last season? Finish with?

Small margins for the last few years. A bit more cash injected - a Moutino here and Leonardo there, who knows what could have been.

We've scraped a few wins, but lost a few we shouldn't have too. Arse have scraped their way through this season with some fortunate games.

And it all comes down to 2 games, possibly the last game of the season again.

Wasn't able to watch the game so have just caught up on the comments. Seems to me that the team did a bloody good job tonight against a formidable team needing a result as much as us. Can't really ask much more than that realistically.=D>

inept? At stamford bridge?

'avin a laugh surely.

As I say, in the circumstances, having thrown away whatever advantage we had against the likes of fulham and wigan, we put ourselves in a position where we had to win today. We never looked like winning or outplaying them. Its not like we missed any decent chances - we got a scrappy draw in a game that combined with Saturdays performance really defined our character, spirit and ambition.

Why do we want to be in the CL to play teams like Madrid, Munich and Barca if we are "proud" to draw against Chelsea. I am proud of little tottenham hotspurs fighting against all the odds to scrape a point against Chelsea in a game we needed to win? For the last few months we've thrown it all away like last year and are now relying on others to help us qualify, thats embarressing and shows our lack of spirit and quality.

I am fudging sick of this attitude from some of our fans. If all you care about is success, go and support Chelsea or Emirates Marketing Project or PSG. Our lack of quality? That's probably because we' can't afford to spend £130m on our front four.

Once again our manager is a victim of his own success earlier on in the season. Very few were expecting us to qualify for the CL at the beginning of the season.

Love the comment about playing it like a cup final.... I've seen us in a few semis of late and we we much worse than we were tonight

We played with guts tonight nd what we lacked in craft we made up for n effort

We're still scoring the late goals and not conceding them late so that bodes very well for the next games.

Arsenal are scoring early goals which means there getting chased and its much easier chasing then being chased apprently

It's still a lot of ifs buts and maybes but hey we're still in it

Last year we 'threw it away' in a very different way to this year. This year we have had to come back and snatch draws and the victory against Southampton, which while we shouldn't be in that position shows spirit as last year we didn't turn defeats into draws and draws into victory.

You seriously sound like a frustrated arsenal fan on a wind-up mission.

That's a bit harsh to say and perhaps even unfair, but no harsher or more unfair than what you've just been spewing about Spurs and our players.

Even so, their central 3 (Luiz, Ramires, Mata) all cost £20m+, our most expensive player in the central trio was Parker.

Cahill would have cost a lot more than £7m if not for his expiring contract anyway.

All I'm saying is that a player isn't just a price tag, if it was all about transfer fees Sir Alex wouldn't be retiring with all those PL winners medals in his pocket and City would win every game

Obviously players are a lot more than their price tag, not disagreeing.

But some points about what the cost of the teams has been are worth making from time to time.

because Utd's team is made up of freebies isn't it .. apart from ..

de Gea 18m
Rio 30m
Smalling 10m
Jones 16m
Vidic 6m
Evra 6m
Valencia 18m
Carrick 18m
Anderson 18m
Young 17m
Nani 17m
Kagawa 14m
Rooney 28m
Van Persie 24m

etc etc

You must have been watching a different match to me. After Siggy's equaliser we looked like the side that was clearly going to go on and win it.

We missed a couple of decent chances. Yup it defined our character spirt and ambition. To keep fighting until the very end and try and get the wins however unlikely they seem.

We do have another two games to play this season dont we????????

feels like the end of the season with some of these comments.....

Well Karma.....do you feel like buttering up chesney gloves for some howlers at the end of the season?????

Come on football gods just give us something.....

A draw was a fair result. But we had chances to score more, as they did. We scored the harder goals, but are not as solid as them defensively.

We scored 2 quality goal, not scrappy at all, against a team built on unlimited petroleum $s. 'In the circumstances' we have put ourselves in a position where we can still qualify. Cant ask for more than that. how many teams are there in the football league? We're 5th. Could you imagine being born in Wigan or supporting some no hope team? Consider yourself fortunate, and who knows, we could make you really dejected/ delirious by winning the next two.

We haven't thrown it away. Nothing of the sort. Chelsea and Arsenal's form over the last few months has been obscene.

They have won it far more than we have 'thrown it away'.

Whilst I agree Arsenal's form/results has been great recently, we always fall just that little bit short right at the end. I honestly believe that win over scum in March and a 7 point lead should have been enough to see us over the line. Obviously I expected them to close the gap, but they did it in about 4 games.

People saying they are angry with Ade because of a performance like this, why can't he get more support from us? To me he puts effort in every game, but he was lacking a lot of confidence for whatever reason. Tonight it was there and we got a good performance.

Torres seems to get the 'Aww poor Torres, he's going through some tough times' treatment from a lot of the media while Ade gets mocking and patronisation, particularly from commentators. 'Even Adebayor had a good game tonight!' I'm sure I heard as they went to a break. It's pretty ridiculous. Just because he is capable of scoring a goal like tonight it doesn't mean we deserve it every game. Just because he misses the chances like against West Ham it doesn't mean he isn't bothering.

There's clearly something else at work in his mind other than just 'lazy ****' and I think some of our supporters' attitudes towards him have been absolutely shameful.

Firstly, I couldn't care less what the media says about Torres. That also isn't true anyway, as Torres has been the subject of non stop ridicule from the media and opposition fans since his move to Chelsea.

Nobody is expecting him to score a goal like this every game. What we are expecting is something akin to the performances he's been putting in over most of the past 6-7 years, including what we saw last year in our own shirt. Hold up play, scoring goals, assisting, the ability to strike the ball like a proper footballer.

Today, we saw all those qualities again. For most of his 4 goal season, we haven't. Whether you want to believe its because he doesn't have confidence in himself anymore or he doesn't care or whatever your theory, it just doesn't matter. His performances, for the most part, have not been acceptable this season, especially considering he is one of our highest paid players.

When I've been at the ground, I've stood Ade's ground. I've tried cheering him when people groaned or ironically cheered him. I had a huge argument with the dingdonghead I was sitting next to the in the Lyon game who did nothing but abuse Ade all game.

But when I'm back here on the board, I'll air my views on Ade. And that is that he has been close to appalling for most of the season. Forget the wondergoal, obviously that wa sa bit of a freak but the rest of his game today was much closer to what he should be offering on a relatively regular basis and what we actually know he can offer on a relatively regular basis.

Anyway, enough negativity.

Outstanding from Walker and Ade today.

Real shame we couldn't quite go that extra mile in the end and it will be very difficult now to finish top 4. I don't think we'll do it but I hope the players fight to the final minute of the final day. There's still a few surprises in the 6 matches left between us I feel.

Yep and the facts show that the teams who spend the most on players and salaries general Finnish in that order

Because Chelsea are a far better team/squad than us, and were battling for the same prize. Like I said above, did you expect Chelsea to lie down?

I dont dispute Chelsea have a better team and squad. Sometimes you expect a big performance, a stand up and be counted one. Maybe I expect too much of a team that struggles to beat Southamton, Everton and Fulham to suddenly turn up and show what we are made of though.

We DID turn up. We scored two good goals, could/should have had more.

Played way better than the Saints game too.
