*** Tottenham Hotspur Vs Liverpool OMT ***

What a night that was. We stole their pockets that night. Can still see Pav sliding towards the corner flag in the pouring rain.

Oh yes...ironically, I remember when the waiter brought keane off I laughed and said to my mate he'd just handed us the game!!!! didn't really believe what i was saying LOL but took the plaudits at the final whistle

Andre: "They put us under pressure in the second half. But we were fantastic in the first half and took a deserved lead. It's been a great week for us and puts us back on track for where we want to be. We're 3 pts off 3rd now. Gareth's free-kick was amazing, it gained so much power and pace and he almost scored another later in the second half."

Ill tell you why.

Possession means eventually you will get goals. Because the foundation is there i.e a passing game.

Not getting possession means there will be a time when those teams who batter us like liverscum and Manure will win and thats because we dont keep possession.

Can anyone tell me what type of team we are? counter attacking? passing?

I did give you somewhat of an answer a few pages back mate, but didn't see a response. In short, the side you saw in the first-half (3rd game in 7 days including trip to Rome and off the back of a few defeats) with a couple more quality players to help us retain possession/finish the game off/provide better options off the bench when we inevitably tire. The first-half side is who he's building us to be. I can break that down further if you'd like, but I think it makes sense. Remember, no left-back, our creative CM playing first full game for ages, no hold-up striker off the bench...

Thanks Andre. Don't play Gallas any more. Please.

Another good 3 points today. Wasn't pretty at times but great win:)

Maybe, but this is a better Spurs side than the one that finished 4th in 2009/10 and I would be delighted if we finished 4th again this season.

Dembele and Sandro are good but not as good as Mod and Hudd where that Season, when they dominated teams with possession. We also had a tried and trusted striking partnership and a rock solid defence too. Not to mention Gomes was in the form of his life.

Modric played wide left most of that season, Defoe is still at the club and Adebayor is an upgrade on Crouch.

Modric and Huddlestone played a few games at CM together. It was usually Hudd/Palacios with Modric on the left. Then Bale came out of the blue and we put Modric in the middle when he started playing left midfield instead of left back.

just seen the highlights, and wtf? there were no penalties there.

what's rodgers thinking about? it's nonsense. take it on the chin, you lost, get on with it. address your own inadequacies, don't point fingers at things that aren't there.

What a great goal @GarethBale11...not the free kick though! hahah ;-) sweet 3 points

didn't realise how lucky their goal was, they were lucky to even have a chance of getting a point

wasn't happy with our lack of ball retention when under pressure once again , need adebayor back to help that

"A draw would have maybe been fairer, I have to agree with that," Villas-Boas admitted. "But sometimes it's important to get three points like this by fighting.

"Liverpool in the second half were very strong. Our first half was extremely good.

"The 2-0 advantage gave us a bit of extra confidence and we made a couple of mistakes because of that extra confidence."

Villas-Boas was clearly unhappy with the timing of the fixture, adding: "All the teams are very tired and we are on a continuous run from the Europa League and two Premier League fixtures where we've used most of the same team.

"Most of the other teams haven't done so, they are fresher than us.

"I compliment the players for the effort they gave. That was a very important three points bearing in mind bearing the fixtures on Wednesday."
