The Academy, NextGen, U18 & U21 Premier League and On-Loan Thread

So, last six in U21 Premier League Group 2 -

W5 D1 L0 F28-A9 Pts16

We're on a roll!

Exciting times at the club-maybe HR's reliance on experience rather than youth was a contributing factor to his dismissal?

Not saying ANY of these kids will make it but AVB is giving a couple a sensible chance.

Says something that we can rest talent like that and still run up a big score.

Indeed.

We really do seem to have an abundance of talented youngsters at the moment.

Here's the latest goal stats updated after tonight's match...

7 of tonights team were given their competitive debuts under Harry. Harry is also the one who got rid of our reserves as it wasn't a good way to develop players and sent them out on loan. Caulker, Walker, Livermore and Naughton are the best examples of this and show how well placed loans are so much better for players than useless reserve team football. The club will be thankful for Harry's contribution in this regard and would have been all too well of his amazing record of bringing youth players through (Cole, Carrick, Ferdinand and Defoe et al.)

Falque especially - he's impressed in his last two outings - can't be worse than Hudd coming on at 60-65 mins.

I agree he's been good in his last couple appearances but the thing that bugs me with him is that he's about 34 now and has hardly strung any games together for a club yet (aside from a Villarreal B loan spell). Why did Barca, Juve, Bari, Southampton never play him??

Hopefully he's just a late bloomer

is that Carroll with the incisive pass? first team could do with a bit of that

great cross from Couli :)...nah, what a strike

Que?

Iago Falque is only 22 years old.

23 in Jan, was a snidey comment.. I just meant he needs to start producing soon.. Some players were getting regular games at 16,17 (Hudd, Bale, Walcott, Sterling, Wheelchair many others) it just bugs me that he's not had many games in the last 5 or 6 years

Just seen the highlights on Spurs TV

Some excellent finishing, 2 corkers from Falque and Coulibaly looks a bit of a character, liked his goal celebration

Guy I work with is a Millwall ST he is so impressed with Adam Smith, said the lad just exudes confidence and will be a top top player..

I would liked to have given him a run in the europa league or league cup. I like walker but young players often go through a tough spell in their first few seasons and i feel he is in one at the moment. With smith and carroll looking like at the least they could become premership players and hopefully tottenham players the club have done an amazing job bringing through players.

Caulker and livermore have made england squads and townsend looks like he should get a top flight career again hopefully with us. If i was sherwood i would look to try and getting townsend a loan somewhere in the premership.

Your friend from work marky was he one of the guys holding up the banner the other week?;)

I have never got a "buzz" off Townsend that he could be a Spurs player. He will certainly be a top class championship maybe EPL player same as Rose.

Would love to be proved wrong, of course
