*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur FC vs Manchester United ***

Crazy to think it, but I actually think we’re fast approaching that point. He (and us) really need to start seeing some wins
If we get past Cov at home without a win then there will be serious questions. Which is a shame as I think he's been let down by the club a bit but partly his own doing. You cant go into a season with Solanke as your only striker. That is bottom 3 stuff.

No word of a lie I've not seen nor heard a single Spurs fan complaining about the international break.

Oh look it's another fresh start! It's a damn shame I'll be at a wedding tomorrow and as such, regrettably unable to watch rather than bordering on unwilling. I think we'll utilise our rope a dope strategy of going two or three goals behind, lulling the opposition into trance like state where they forget they're playing a game of football so we can seize glory by bundling in an ultimately meaningless goal, giving ourselves something to build on for the next fresh start.

I predict our cunning plan of spending a fortune in midfield to elevate Bentancur's game will continue to bear fruit. In addition, splurging 160m in to wide forwards with historically little end product for one of the best teams in the world will really pay off, especially when they're getting chances a plenty laid on for them and can create opportunities for big Dom. At least we kept our top scorers from last season so there's goals spread across the team. Say whatever you like about Solanke, no goals blah blah blah but you've got to factor in his impressve no social media outbursts statistic, the archetypal De Zerbi player. Ah, speaking of, our maestro ball playing extraordinaire has generously got himself injured so at least Danso can step i- Oh wait...Van Hecke is a bit like the rug in The Big Lebowski, in theory it really ties the whole room (team) together but unfortunately got tinkled on by some nihilistic thugs.

I'm attempting to use reverse psychology on fate here, which will hopefully conspire to prove me wrong on all fronts and make me look the fool I am come full time. By which point I'll ideally be too busy being bladdered, unironicaly doing the macarena with some lovely people 🫡🕺💃🍾

I always travelled in hope to Old Trafford, unfortunately it was usually a "forlorn hope" best result was a 2-2 draw in cup with "Big Chiv" bagging a couple. Last time I danced at a wedding was my daughter's in 1987.

And what's wrong with that?

All well and good, but combined we have near 300m of players that all so far we have heard are excuses. Not being funny mate, for some of the fees there is a level of expecting some hitting of the ground.

We are rock bottom, giving week off to players and hearing "need time".......

Just seems like if RDZ lost his job tomorrow he would have a great career updating Southern Rails twitter page

That's the problem with not buying PL proven players, oh wait

Its amazing how much the game has changed or at least perceptions, I remember a time you signed someone for relatively big money and the excitement to see what they can do......often or not you saw something, I mean even Ndombele scored on debut against Villa haha.

Now you expect to see even the tiniest spark and people act like you are being unreasonable

All evidence? JPVH got the run around by Jackson but was good in the few games before and was responsible for most of our good build up play. And had 2 clean sheets in the 2 prior games. Tosin has one game under his belt and conceded 3 against a Liverpool makeshift team. I thought he actually played well tbh but just proving you can spin it any way you want.
He's also been responsible for the majority of the goals we have conceded!
Not on his own, but he's generally been tinkle poor at his main job!

We need to get past the sentiment on Madders and Deki and look to offload in winter and upgrade.

Neither are going to get to anywhere near the level this club needs.

Not a strong disagree on my part but a tentative one.

Considering Maddison was making appearances at the end of last season, it is however a bit concerning if he's not able to start a game given the summer + full pre season.

Kulu's another situation and it has hurt us having three players (adding Simons in to this) that we rely on for creativity out for an undetermined amount of time. Arguably you never really know with any injury, and for their personal wellbeing caution is advised. None of the three would hit the ground running and solve our issues either, for varying reasons.

Maybe it seems like Bergvall is catching a stray here but that's where I don't really get what he brings atm, Gallagher is getting picked ahead of him and the kid plays high risk in low yield situations - If he's not suitable as a 10 or box to box, nor as a deep lying player, or an actual ball winner (I miss Palhinha making tackles, remember those?), what actually is Bergvall? And will he get enough minutes ahead of Tonali, Fernandes and ironically our best performing midfielder in Bents....

This current Spurs team must be a fudging nightmare save in football manager!

You realise the players do not decide their price tags right?

It takes some longer than others to adapt. I’m still waiting on VDV, Solanke, Bergval to actually play consistently over a season, they still look like they are adjusting.
