The Goon Thread

It's strange that virtually nothing is being made of the fact that they couldn't attract any of these players yet there's endless articles about us signing on loan a player from Chelsea who is nothing other than a back up.

Oh there has been plenty made of that, it'll be louder when they drop their first point(s) don't you worry...

Yeah, There was a post mentioning this on Twitter or somewhere recently. He lambasted Eze once for not tracking a runner and left him out for 16 matches or something and the post was saying potential signings might now be put off by his defence first attitude etc.

Im not complaining.. they missed a huge opportunity to really cement themselves this summer haven't they?
I honestly think that would be a consideration with the top level of players.
Unless you're that type of player in the first place (eg Diego Costa), I don't think you take too favourably to learning a list of dark arts and gonads behavior before you get to playing the football you're good at and enjoy.

Just too add....think Rice already looked like he was struggling Monday night. The man needed two months off, minimum.

Wonder what centre back they’re going to sign in January? Linked with Vini, Alvarez and Rodgers end up with Konsa. Sky will have you believe it’s a new attacking style this season because they beat Coventry. It’s going be the same as it was last year, probably worse

Not a comment on the game itself which I didn’t watch but next time we have local elections I will be asking any doorstepping party what their plan/policy is on vermin control as I lost count today of how many grown men I saw in Woolwich shirts (and one wearing both shirt and shorts). Not going to the station on their way to the game, just either wandering around or going to a pub to watch. I honestly don’t think there are any comparable fans (and as most know I live in West Ham country).

Also this off the ball obstruction/foul

Arsenal are despicable cheaters

Not sure those Alonso quotes are real btw.

Anyway, I hate to be all "Pyramids built by aliens" but at this point you have to question if there is more to it. I mean we saw in the Summer, the governing body at the highest level of football make entirely ridiculous and dodgy decisions that have never been seen before, so to say "this couldn't happen in the PL" is not entirely a valid argument.

I mean the trip on Rogers, also in the first half there was a bit where one of the Chelsea players was literally wrestled to the floor and ref didn't give a free kick for a blatant foul near the touchline. The level of protection is insane, just give Arsenal what they want.

And people wonder how a team went an entire season last year without a single red card or penalty against them...

The officiating against them is 100% different that others, its clear as day. Why that is would be the debate
