You can't build a team for a manager without expecting him to stay out his contract. Ignoring managers wishes is one of the things which has stung us and made us undesirable. The outcome now is clear to me. They back him and he has to deliver

I think they had to back him....and on the face of it, why wouldn't you.

My hunch is the manager will be the biggest difference maker above any player we sign. But also, give him the tools he wants and we have a big chance of going places.

Then it's back over to the ownership, they're going big on fees to get RDZ targets, so how deep are their pockets and how many times are they prepared to reload going forward??

Well hopefully the model is that

- Rejig team to back manager and fix the balance (team was built for vastly different managers in past 4 years)
- Get the improvement, add more next season, go again
- At any point if it doesn't work with manager, get at least a "similar" thinking manager
- Have patience

Not sure how much time and effort is consumed on sending him on a couple of loans, but the why bother? Is answered with the tens of millions profit made on him. As with Lankshear, and almost Bergvall - All the big clubs have profitable youth setups where they make good money on young players sold to smaller clubs who have barely featured if at all.

Until now we've never really done that well, so at least I'd say we are proving to be rather good at identifying young talents. We can argue about who we would and wouldn't of sold, but the reality is all big clubs release young players who don't fit with the current managers plans - some of which go on to be a big hit elsewhere and others don't. Just the nature of the beast, but at least we are generating decent profits in the process like our rivals do and is important for PSR....

My issue is we spent a fortune on a player who grid what cubic does without the goal threat
And it was from the club we sold him too

But we haven’t, so far upgraded with who we spent the money on
So bringing in the cash is great if it’s spent well

I would suggest alot more than it looks from outside

The rest is fine, I get it, but that works well if those that come in with the money is spent on players who are better. We won't know in the Vusko example if thats the case. If he turns out better than we have then the financial side doesn't play into it, if anything its an argument to keep.

But we won't know that for a while, but I will watch his development with great interest

Absolutely agree, only time will tell if we have backed the right horse. Wait and and see on all counts...
