Conor Gallagher

I'm not anti the person.

But I'm anti him playing where he does and how he does in our team.

If you're playing him for his energy and press, play him from out wide.

If he has to play centrally, play him deeper as a box to box something.

Having him play as #10 in a team with a striker who can't hold it up or create, with wingers who can't hold it up or create, in my book is pretty close to negligence.

We should never have bought him in the first place, he has no outstanding ability, but he's here now and we have to find a way to use him to the benefit of the team.
Never wanted him, never felt he was what we needed and now we are stuck with him. If he plays a significant number of starts and minutes we are going to have a difficult season.

The weird thing is, he played really well for Crystal Palace and was Poch's captain at Chelsea. He definitely not a world beater but there is a better player in there than we have seen so far. There are other players who I am more concerned about at this stage.

I still can't picture Connor as a "best eleven" player at Spurs if we have high expectations but sort of him to start every game. I'm hoping there are some positive reasons why we can justify him being on the bench like new players and returning injured players. However, you have to admit without him in the squad there would have been a massive gap in the 20 man squad. He's robust and mostly reliable.

I think what you're saying is that there is more of a footballer in him than Spurs have seen so far. I desperately hope you're right.

It's not as obvious to see as a player like Fernandez though. He oozes class on the ball for me.

Not got off the bench last 2 games.

With Ndiaye coming in, must raise the possibility that he could be sold?

He's down the order for all positions, and I'm still not sure what his is.

The run around English player role. He has a distinct lack of quality in all on the ball areas. I'm sure he can be useful in a tight game that we are trying to shut up shop in but that's such a specific circumstance it doesn't feel like it's worth wasting a squad place just for that.
