Seeing that he had exactly the same stats over a whole EPL season, it is clearly no fluke... explains why - for the crap about over paying - RDZ made sure we pushed the boat to sign him...
 
already well worth it... JP is already an upgrade on either/both our current starting CBs imo

I think in fairness we'll have to allow the back five to be stable and settled for a while before that true solidity happens. Kinsky/Porro/VH/VdV/Robertson certainly has the potential to develop into a very smart, mobile and skillful defence. I have omitted Destiny because I just don't see where he fits anymore, given that he cannot get onto the pitch.

Genuine question because you’ve expressed concern about JPVH’s defensive abilities several times…

How much have you watched him at BHA?

They are the only other team I watch as they were my local team growing up and I have enjoyed their football under Potter, RDZ and now Huerzler. While he hasn’t stood out in particular as say VVD might, he has often quietly impressed me. Nothing flashy but generally very solid, decent anticipation and positioning and obviously good ball skills.

Interested in your opinion as I believe you have experience working in the game…

Not seen much of him at all
Maybe 8/10 games
But he always seems to be wrong side on balls over and indecisive
I hope I’m wrong because he can play
I don’t work in the game but my nephew does
Did grow up knowing some players and some managers and do know a couple or scouts
I’ve just watched a lot of football and I live footballers who play… my nervousness is ones who play but don’t do the core of their role
Defenders defend
Midfields run or pass
Attackers score
Very simplistic I know
