Transfer thread

Saudi teams will help them out.
They can easily sell Fernandez and Neto to Emirates Marketing Project for around £160m combined (though it seems they want more)
They will also be able to sell one of Delap or Jackson for £35m (Delap) to £50m (Jackson).

I reckon Chelsea will end up with a net spend of about £100m this season. I think they'll sell some players as the window moves on and they get a bit more realistic with their demands.

Yea for all the early promise at Wolves he really hasn’t impressed that much at Chelsea, not terrible like Garnacho, but no more than “ok” so far and likely won’t improve now. Think the injuries really hurt his development.
had a serious knee injury at wolves - similar to kulusevski.
then followed by ankle and hamstring injuries that kept him out for months each time.
not sure why chelsea bought him before he was able to prove himself fit for a season

a good example and cautionary tale of how serious knee can lead to other injuries later on

He is fairly one dimensional although hes quite good at doing that one thing. He's probably a player we buy and play to get back into the serious top 4 arguments but then we might want to improve upon if we wanted to seriously challenge or win the league.
yeah agree i was seeing him as a smart and affordable buy, not a statement signing.

No one cares about tapping up anymore and I think the way it's done is to talk to the rep and get a verbal agreement so there's no actual proof of pre contact but no one cares anymore anyway.

Haha, ok. It isn’t long since this was a bit of a big deal though, right? Turning heads and such.

Ashley Cole to arsenal is probably the era when it was a big deal. Tbh its always happened, it's only ever been a problem when the selling club doesn't actually want to sell or they feel like the figure offered is a tinkle take and are being coerced into selling a player cheaply. We had a bit of that with MGW last season from Forest.

Yeah, exactly. There were accusations from Forrest that we weren't allowed to speak to MGW, iirc. Then of course, it was the Schrödinger's release clause.

Failing that they’ll sell their under 13’s team to a Qatari investment company and say they’re actually in profit.

I quite liked Mateta but athletically he looks so stiff and one paced this last season or so.

I just don't think he's the kind of player that RDZ wants (pure guesswork on my part tbh)
I remember Danso having him in his pocket at the away fixture last season.

Not the quality of player we need for where we are setting our sights.
