If Gomez had cut out his brain farts … he probably would have been too good for us. He would have gone down as our best GK in the modern era
And in his own right, Gomes was a very fine keeper
Absolutely immense vs the gooners in 2010. The Danny Rose game that was actually won by Gomes making three incredible saves:
Yeah, Friedal only second to Lloris for me, rock solid keeper before being good with the feet was wanted or needed.
A loan without an obligation is pointless.
Make it clear to his agent he won't be leaving on loan without a reachable obligation
He can spend the season putting out cones
A good keeper but just not quite good enough for where we want to be. Thanks for your service and really buying into our club.

Yeah, it was always funny that he was described as a sweeper keeper despite not being much good with his feet just always aware of when he had to fly out to a through ball or low cross.Coming of thier line was revolutionary when Lloris replaced Freidel.
The season we qualified for the CL for the first time he was integral and absolutely inspired in the run in.And in his own right, Gomes was a very fine keeper
Nobody wants him because he isn’t very good. IMO he was in the bottom 5 first choice keepers in the PL last year and some clubs have both a first choice and backup better than him. I’d say he cost us between 6 and 10 points last year and that’s before looking at how poor he is with the ball at his feet. He has no physical presence, is terrible dealing with crosses, has poor positional sense, isn’t brave and is poor passing with both feet.A loan without an obligation is pointless.

What we are seeing today is not for me a ‘sweeper keeper’, the likes of Kinsky etc are better described as a ‘ball playing keeper’Not at all. Sweeper keeper was the revolutionary transition in Lloris's era. Coming off your line was more your transition from the Banks to Shilton era and really exaggerated later by GK's like Grobbelaar. You had some great stopper keepers like Seaman for England where it wasn't their thing though. Most keeper were becoming way more commanding of their 18 yard box many decades ago.
For me, the ageing Brad just become more and more withdrawn. Let's face it, you don't play as many consecutive games over all those years if you come flying off your line and get in where it hurts. For me, Brad was never the bravest keeper. At his prime he was just a very decent shot stopper, had safe hands and was a tremendous talker to his back line.
