Mikey Moore

Odobert just seems to play within himself. I’ve seen it be rumoured he is one of the players that fears the home crowd the most. His talent is clear it’s just the mental side that is lacking.
Odobert was starting to do well in the 10 role last season then suffered a serious injury. I also remember him being the stand out player for me in a poor Burnley under Kompany. I am certain this boy has talent, just need him to stay injury free.

I’ve seen more from Mikey Moore personally.

I think it is a very common observation for a player coming back from a long term injury to play within themselves. There just isn't the confidence in the body for a fair while. I would say that is especially common with soft tissue injuries.

The question with Odobert is whether he can come back to full fitness and confidence. He's missed a lot of football since the Burnley days.

I thought Odobert was starting to look really good before he did his ACL, particularly in the CL games.

However, the backup/developmental RW slot is Moore’s to lose now. If he does well, then we’re planning sell Odobert, if not he goes back out on loan in Jan.

We can only register 17 international players. They all need to contribute you can’t use those spots for developmental players. Same will apply to Tel next season.

Homegrown players who are under 21 like Moore can be given more time to develop because they are not taking up one of those spots.

right, overseas players rather than those who have international caps. I understand now.

Thanks

Moore has only ever started one PL game…and that was a couple years ago.
What have you seen? Genuinely interested.

Odobert has been trusted by different managers to start crucial Premier League, Champions League and Europa League football matches (and has put in some good performances whether the G/A are there or not).

Moore hasn't been trusted to be anywhere near such games and there's a reason for it. It's not a slant on Moore, he's young and at a different stage of his development. He will have another loan this year then reassess this time next season as to whether he's ready for the demands of PL football....

Probably, but we probably do need to have him available for the 3 August fixtures. That buys our injured player some more time not to mention the transfer implications. I don't think we can really see the new attacking setup just yet, which means Mikey is still important to our own squad.

His link up play with Xavi Simons and kudus was really good. Then Kudus sustained an injury and then Odobert. Actually it makes me shudder thinking of last season’s injuries!

He will be here until one or two attacking players are brought in this window for sure.

By end of the window he will be on loan, hopefully work out as well as last seasons one and he continues to grow....

He was looking good, he can dribble but can intelligently link up and release the ball at the right time too.

I'm hoping it won't take too long for him to get back into the groove when he eventually returns but who knows :(....
