Transfer thread

I think you are conflating back-to-back performances against Brentford and United as a spell. He only scored 6 goals in the first half the season (Brentford, United, Villa x2, Chelsea, Liverpool), despite playing pretty much all of every match.

Maddison (not much of a goalscorer) got 7 in that same period for comparison
No it wasn't as simple as the goals he scored. His hold up and link up play was very good and we have missed that from him or whoever is playing CF since that period.....

What don;t you understand in.... Solanke was not bought for goals... Johnson was

He absolutely wasnt crap at that. Along with Kulu he was our best player in that first season up until his injury. It was telling how our attacking play fell apart in his absence. He was the vital cog that made it work. Sadly he doesn't seem to have ever been fully fit since then.
I don’t think so at all. Kulu was far more important than Solanke. Also Maddison.kulu held it and carried it.

I think he’s pretty mediocre in all areas of the game.waste of 65m.

His hold up play was good initially, last season (in his limited time) and in preseason, he's looked terrible, beyond no goals, he's not contributing, it's been telling that Richi in preseason games has been an improvement in every sense, goals, defensive headers, assists, just being connected to team (and that's not saying Richi has been good)

Richi has always been immense on the defensive headers for us. I'm just glad it's getting noticed.

It's one thing doing what Kane did superbly and guarding the front post at set pieces. It's a completely different skill to get in there where it hurts in the 6 yard box and get those tough headers away. We did the right thing with Kane protecting his ankle and letting him have the near post role. We've also done the right thing with Richi by putting him on the 6 yard line from corners and set pieces.

Our forwards have been winning big defensive headers for years.

Yup, it was the initial period being discussed and how he hasn't been the same since. Ideally both CFs will be moved on, but it's not going to happen in one window.

Hopefully we can get at least one in, and seemingly would be more likely Richi the one that leaves judging by RDZs comments about him flip flopping with wanting to leave etc although from what I've seen the past year or so I'd edge towards wanting to keep him ahead of Solanke but it's not a great choice between the two of them :D ....

Just had a look at Emirates Marketing Project site , perhaps Savinho wants to come to us so he can play in front of a full house, first game v B'mouth not sold out and 4 tickets per member available !!!!!!!!
