I had mixed feelings: his views and public persona were repugnant, but he did write a fairly good collection of short stories once. My wife’s concerns were all for the poor bereaved Emu.

Yeh, talented writer, not sure what he was getting at with the "I can't be a teacher as it means I can't shag kids" or punching his pregnant partner in the stomach. Tortured genius or wrongun, fine line I suppose

He was on the Sky News 10.30pm paper review a couple of times last month. Honestly thought the poor bloke was going to expire onscreen; he looked really ill.
