Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Although her politics were disgusting, i generally found her tone and approach to disagreement quite respectful

Weirdly I know someone who worked with her through another associate, apparently she was the life and soul in right company, had a real sense of humour. Like I say, political nowhere near my cup of tea, but dreadful crime

Yahoo finance says most US companies on Dow Jones do pay dividends and the majority of companies on S & P 500 pay dividends.

I stand corrected but the amounts are lower, from a google search

The FTSE 100 offers a significantly higher dividend yield than the S&P 500, currently sitting at around 3.0% to 3.3%, compared to the S&P 500's yield of roughly 1.05%. This gap exists because UK companies prioritize income payouts, whereas US firms heavily reinvest for growth

No problem , just wanted to get things right and UK stocks do on average make better dividend yields than the US.
My original point though is that the UK has lagged behind the EU major countries in stock market performance over the last 10 years and also I have found in GDP growth.
All the fake news made by Leave politicians and supporters that the EU was about to collapse and the scare stories of Turkey joining the EU have so far proved wrong.

I wouldn't bother joining if I was Turkey....they already have a decent trade agreement with the eu customs union, and geopolitically appear to sit nicely in the middle of loads of nonsense going on around them.

As for the UK... we'll find growth if we target growth industries or even lead the way (which we are good at) in exploring new possible markets with r&d etc
